As the weather warms and summer is on its way, Knoxville residents will find themselves with even more public waterfront development to enjoy. Riverwalk at CityView, the first segment of a 20-year waterfront development plan, was completed by Merit Construction earlier this year.  

Merit Construction completed the project for KCDC and the City of Knoxville. The project includes a pedestrian-friendly walkway, curbs, landscaping, pedestrian lighting, curbside parking spaces and underground utilities. The lighting uses energy-saving LED technology, and the landscape islands were designed to filter and retain stormwater to avoid the installation of an irrigation system. The project also incorporated bleacher-style seating and an observation deck for special events such as Boomsday and others.   

The project complements CityView Condominiums, and marks the first segment of what will eventually become a three-mile long Riverwalk.
