Practices will begin September 10 and will run Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:00 PM - 6:15 PM.  The 10-week, 20-lesson curriculum focuses on helping girls become physically, emotionally, and socially healthy.  Each session is led by trained adult coaches and includes: warm-up, lesson, workout, time to process, cool down, energy awards, and a healthy snack.

The season culminates in the Girls on the Run 5K event to be held on Saturday, November 17 at the University of Iowa Ashton Cross Country Course.  Join us!

Looking for a Few Good Volunteers

Did you know some of the people you make daily contact with at the Rockwell Collins Recreation Center are volunteers?   Our volunteers range in age from eighteen to over eighty and provide many necessary and helpful services with responsibilities and hours that vary widely. No doubt, you've met some of the volunteers at the Front Desk as they greet you upon check-in or you might have met a volunteer when you dropped your child off in the Rec Room. But did you know we have volunteers who also help with light cleaning tasks and general straightening of the common areas at the gym?

Speaking of volunteers, we have several volunteer positions available. People volunteer with us for a number of reasons; some to serve their community, others for an avenue of eligibility for membership, some enjoy the interaction with our members.

If you have a few hours a week that you'd like to volunteer at the Rockwell Collins Recreation Center, or know someone else who would be interested, please drop by the Front Desk and ask for an application! We'd love to have you join our team.

For more information regarding any of the Rec Center's programs or services, please call 319-295-2552, or visit us online at www.rockwellcollinsreccenter.com.
