Dear Friends,
Cheryl_July
September was Alcohol Awareness Month, so you've likely heard or read about the ongoing Responsibility Campaign the Association has undertaken to educate all citizens of the need to make good decisions and be mindful of the sensitive aspects related to alcohol.

As the fall weather brings cooler temps and bright foliage colors, we will continue to emphasize the importance of individual choices.

No matter what season or time of year, the Maine Beer & Wine Distributors Association remains committed to advocating a message of responsibility: whether this relates to healthy diets and physical exercise; recycling and reuse of consumer materials or public service and volunteerism.

For the next several months, we will focus our energy on the legislative session and work with policymakers on issues of importance. We hope you will follow the process via this e-newsletter. If you have any questions or thoughts to share, please feel free to communicate with us. Happy Fall!

Delivering Quality and Choice, Advocating Responsibility.

Sincerely,
Cheryl Timberlake

Valley Distributors and Maine Distributors Sponsor Guest Speaker

Sarah Presentation
Sarah Panzau speaks to high school students around the country
 about her story.

On September 8, as part of Alcohol Awareness Month, Valley Distributors and Maine Distributors sponsored two presentations by Sarah Panzau at Waterville High School and Winslow High School.

Sarah Panzau is a 28 year-old woman who survived a near fatal drunk driving accident in 2003. Sarah's decision to drive drunk landed her in the hospital for several months and has resulted in more than 30 surgeries.

During both appearances, she reached out to students about underage drinking, drunk driving, making smart choices, respecting parents and rising above disabilities. She describes the physical and emotional pain of a life that is forever changed because of the poor decision she made.
