SHERLOCK Arthur Ray Sherlock, age 84, passed away in the early hours on Monday, December 5, 2011 at Mt. Carmel West Hospital. He was born in Congo, OH, May 19,1927 to the late Cecil V. and Letha (Trimmer) Sherlock. Art served with the
Army Air Corps in
WWII and retired from Ameritech (Ohio Bell) after 36 years of service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters Frances Dings and Kay Treadway. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Joan (Goddard) Sherlock; daughters, Deborah Sherlock, Pamela (William) Nelson; granddaughter, Kathleen (Lars) Noetzold; and sister, Patricia Burke; extended family members, Paul and Jane Thorn, Alice Goddard and Dayton Goddard; special friend, Violet Ramsey; and several nieces and nephews. Art is a member of The American Legion, The Grand Lodge of F&AM of Ohio and ARRL (amateur radio), call leters, W8PDJ. A member of the former Burgess Avenue United Methodist Church, Art attended Friends Worship Center. Friends may call at JERRY SPEARS FUNERAL HOME, 2693 W. Broad St., Friday 5-8 p.m., where service will be held 12:30 p.m. Saturday. Pastor Bruce Bell officiating. Interment Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
