Jack A. Schuster, age 85, of West Dundee, IL formerly of Columbus, OH and Englewood, FL, died Friday, May 18, 2007 at the Sherman Westcourt in Elgin. Jack was born on September 4, 1921 in Columbus, OH. He was the son of the late John A. and Hazel M. (nee Matteson) Schuster.
Jack was a graduate of Ohio State University. On July 13, 1943, he married Mary Josephine "Betty" Camm. He worked as an Engineer and retired after many years of service from Pure/Union Oil Co.
Jack served in the United States Army and was a World War II Army Veteran. He also earned the rank of First Lieutenant. He was a charter member of the Brookwood Presbyterian Church of Columbus, OH and currently a member of the First Congregational Church of West Dundee.
Jack is survived by his wife, Betty, of 63 years; their children, Steve (Sandy) Schuster of Atlanta, GA, Karen (David) Henderson of West Dundee. Jack is also survived by his grandchildren, Cammy (Chris) Hollender, Betsy (Jim) Sitkie, and Steven Henderson; and two great grandchildren, Nathan and Ainsley.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert L. Schuster.
Jack's family has decided to mourn their loss privately. There will be no visitation or services. Interment will be private.
