WELLS Merrill Ray Wells, age 80, passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2011. He was born in Gallipolis, Ohio, on September 30, 1930, to the late Harley and Helen Wells. Merrill studied at The
Ohio State University and Franklin Business School. He was a US
Army Veteran, having served during the
Korean Conflict, and he was a Mason. Merrill and his wife, Ruth, owned Depot Street Antique Malls in Powell, Ohio, and he especially enjoyed refinishing furniture. He was also an avid golfer, and he always kept up on what was happening in the world. He had a heart for animals and always maintained a sense of humor. Merrill is survived by his wife, Ruth Wells; son, Michael (Penny) Wells; siblings, Eileen Wolff, Charlene Schoeppel, and Robert Wells; grandchildren, Cass and Jay; special niece, Cindy Dixon and her children, Kristopher Montgomery and Kimberly Snider; and other extended family and friends. A memorial service in honor of Merrill will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 29, 2011, at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna.
