Edwin Holter
 
 
     Edwin R. Holter, age 77, died Monday August 30, 2010 at Edgewood Manor in Westerville. Ed is veteran US Naval Reserve, Port Columbus, during Korean War, a member of AmVets Post #89.
 
Ed enjoyed traveling the road ways for Big Bear Stores, Inc. and he was past president of their Retirees Assoc.
 
He is a 1950 graduate of New Albany High School and enjoyed wearing his football letter sweater to the first game every year.
 
He is Past Master Caledonia Lodge #416 F & AM, Secretary Emeritus 14th Masonic District, Past Masters Unit Aladdin Temple Shrine. Past president New Albany Historical Society, member Westerville Historical Society. Community oriented, he was also active in the Board of Elections and Senior Centers.
 
He enjoyed yard work, growing prize tomatoes, latch hook, needlework, cross stitch, great food, bowling, ballroom dancing and euchre. " He could fix anything".
 
He is preceded in death by his parents John and Nellie (Doran) Holter, brothers Everett and Alvin, in-laws Hazel and Roy Reckard and son-in-law Wally House. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Helen Holter, daughter Sharla House, the grandchildren he so loved,Michelle and Brent House, brother Herbert, sister Mamie Street, sister-in-law Geneva (Holter) Wright, 12 nieces and nephews.
 
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8pm Friday at the Schoedinger Northeast Chapel 1051 East Johnstown Road (at Beecher Rd) Gahanna, where the Funeral Service will be held at 10am Saturday, September 4 ,2010.
 
Interment with Military honors in Maplewood Cemetery.
