ELLISON, Jr., Walter E. age 94, of West Manchester, OH died Sunday, May 16, 2010 at Dayton VA Hospital. Walter was born on May 5, 1916 in Wall Lakes, IA son of the late, Walter & Mary (Holtz) Ellison, Sr. He proudly served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired in 1980 after 24 years as a revenue officer for the I. R. S. Former Mayor of West Manchester from 1980 to 1982. Life member of the Disabled American Veterans in Greenville, Ohio. Member of the Masonic Lodge of Bexley, OH. Preceded by his son, Ronald Gene Ellison in 1991. Survived by his son & daughter-in-law, David W. & Barbara Ellison of Lawrenceburg, IN; sister & brother-in-law, Phyllis & F. Robert Ellison of San Diego, CA; grandchildren Mark Douglas Ellison, Margaret Anne (Jason) Stamp, Carrie Michelle Ellison and John Michael Ellison; three great-grandchildren. Graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 21, 2010 at the Dayton National Cemetery, 4100 West Third Street, Dayton, OH 45428 with full military honors provided by the Preble County Honor Guard.
