Obituary:

McLEOD Charles F. McLeod, age 86, of Columbus, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at Select Specialty Hospital. Retired Industrial Engineer and later a Contract Specification Engineer. He was a World War II U.S. Navy Veteran, having served with the Sea-Bees. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Miles O. and Loraine (Buffaloe) McLeod. His survivors include his wife of 61 years, Charlene; sons, Michael (Debra) and Mark (Terese) McLeod; daughter, Victoria Pettit; grandsons, Eric and Jeffrey; granddaughter, Jennifer (John) Lamotta and great granddaughter, Gabriella. Charles was a long-time member and elder of Worthington Presbyterian Church. He was also very active in many Masonic organizations. He was a 40 plus year member and Past Master of New England Lodge #4 F & AM and was a Past District Deputy Grand Master of the 14th Masonic District; Past High Priest of Horace W. Wright Chapter #226 R.A.M., a Past Illustrious Master of Zabud Council #99 R. & S.M. and Past Eminent Commander of Mt. Vernon Commandery #1 Knights Templar, Past Puissant Sovereign of the Red Cross of Constantine and also Past Grand Preceptor of the Holy Royal Arch Knight Templar Priests. Charles also was a Past Grand Recorder and an Honorary Past Grand Commander, and a recipient of the Knight Templar Cross of Honor. He was also active in Scottish Rite Masonry and was an Honorary 33rd Degree Mason, Valley of Columbus, A.A.S.R. Member of Aladdin Shriners, the Senior Shriners, and a Past President of the Past Masters Unit; Worthington Hi-12 Club, the Loyal Order of Jesters and was a member and Past Patron of Worthington Chapter #287 O.E.S. Family and friends may call from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, March 1st at the RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High St., Worthington, OH 43085 where a Masonic Service will be held at 7:45 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at the Worthington Presbyterian Church, 773 High Street, Worthington, OH 43085 with Rev. Jeffrey DeYoe officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Knights Templar Education Foundation, c/o Grand Commandery, 111 S.
