Obituary for Charles E. Rector Jr.

Charles E. Rector, Jr., age 89, passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2010. He was born in Columbus on November 8, 1920, to the late Charles and Anna Rector, and was a graduate of Central High School. Charles was a WWII veteran of the US Navy, and after serving his country, he went to work for Pennsylvania Railroad, and then Penn Central. He retired in 1981 from Conrail. He was a Master of East Gate Lodge in 1963, and a 50-year member of Surrise F.&A.M. #748. He was also active with the Achbar Grotto, Aladdin Shrine, Registrars Unit, the Gahanna Moose, and was a life member of VFW 9857. Charles also enjoyed travelling, painting, and working in his garden. He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Lee Rector; infant son, Charles Jr.; 2 sisters; and 2 brothers. He is survived by his children, Mike (Stella) Rector, and Nancy (Steve) Ward; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sister, Sandra (Mike) Griffin; and other family members and friends. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road, Columbus. Obituary for Wallace Perry "Wally" House II

Wallace P. House II, Gahanna, age 58, passed away at the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital on Friday, February 5, 2010. He leaves his loving family, wife of 26 years, Sharla (Holter) House; a daughter, Michelle; and a son, Brent. He was the son of Sylvia House and the late Wallace House. He leaves a brother, Jim and his family, aunt and uncle, Meredith and Frances Jones, and in-laws, Ed and Helen Holter. Wally was a 33 year employee of AEP. He was a 1971 graduate of Gahanna Lincoln, earned a B.S. in Computer Science from OSU and a MBA from Xavier. He was a member of Stonybrook United Methodist Church, Sunrise Masonic Lodge #783 F&AM, the Past Masters Unit of Aladdin Shrine and Scottish Rite, Valley of Columbus, the New Albany-Plain Township Historical Society, Columbus Garden Railway Society, a life member of The Ohio State University Alumni Association and an active member of the Ohio State Rabbit Breeder's Association. He was an Assistant Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 007, Westerville and was a 4-H adviser as well as serving on the Franklin County 4-H Advisory Board. The family wishes to thank the many people who have helped in so many ways. Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Thursday, February 11, 2010 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., where family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Wednesday and a Masonic service will begin at 7:30 P.M.. Interment Maplewood Cemetery. She was a loving mother and will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her husband Paul of forty nine years, daughter-in-law Brenda Shoopman, sisters Mary Robbins and Ann Sparks.
