We're anticipating Connie Bull's visit with us this Saturday. Connie is leading a workshop on kids, their life in the church, and their ministry in the world. It's not too late to attend, by the way, and you can find more information by clicking here.
Anyway, Connie's passion is intergenerational worship and for kids having an intentional place in all of church life. That's part of our DNA at Epiclesis, so I'm really looking forward to Connie's visit.
Now catch this: When we invited Connie to come to Sacramento and we chose a date, we didn't look at the Lectionary ahead of time. Know what this Sunday's Scripture readings are about?
Jesus blesses the children...
This Sunday's lectionary focus is on children! It turns out that the blessing of children, and children blessing others in return, is one of Connie's passions as well.
And so this Sunday, children are involved in our worship even more than usual. Kids are going to participate in a variety of ways-- singing, praying, reading, and leading-- but we're also going to take time to bless the children. I think you'll be really pleased to see what Connie has planned.
Don't miss out! And if you can, try to make it to church a bit early with your kids so we can work on some things they can do during worship. It's going to be a very special day!
Looking forward to worshiping with you on Sunday,
