Requests for Prayer
Some needs in our community of faith...
Epiclesis family, we've received two urgent prayer requests, one from Darlene and one from Richard:

I was informed yesterday evening that my cousin Theresa's son has signed a "Do not resuscitate" order for her after being discharged from the Emergency Room where she was given new medication to take away the pain of the internal bleeding. She is in the final days after a very long and fearless battle with Lung Cancer and still insists that she is not done fighting. Knowing her, she will not be done fighting till her last breath.

My prayer request is that those family members traveling to Arizona to see her are safe and that God just make His presence truly known to all who are with her. Theresa is 50 years old and grew up in the Catholic church. She and her family has held on to that faith throughout their lives and this fight. I also ask for prayer for comfort for those closest to her, including her only son Josh, his wife, Katrina and the two grandchildren Also that God will give peace to her three sisters, Leona, Katherine, and Jacquie as well as her parents, Jack and Virginia, who are at her side as well as the rest of our family.

Thank you all for your prayers, Darlene

This morning our granddaughter's (Katie Bethel) fiancee was in a very serious accident just outside of Bakersfield.  His name is Johnny Shankle.  From what I understand it was a head-on collision.  Johnny was air-lifted to Kern Medical Center and is in I.C.U.  We still don't know the extent of his injuries, but he is in a drug induced coma and breathing with a ventilator.  He has a fractured hip and will possibly have to have a hip replacement.  He has other broken bones and a head injury.  The neurologist is waiting for his other injuries to be stabilized before he does further assessment.  Johnny was able to squeeze the doctor's hand when asked to do so and he is trying to respond to voices.

Do you have a prayer request? Share it with us and please indicate whether you'd like it to go to the entire community, or perhaps to a smaller, more private group of intercessors:  Email Link for Prayer Requests

One important note: Because of the nature of this online e-mail tool, it takes a little bit of time to produce and send out these notifications. Please also know that it takes several days for a significant number of people to open and read the e-mail. You can always post prayer requests immediately in the prayer request forum at the Epiclesis website.

The Lord be with you!
