A Perfect Community of Three

Greetings!

While every Christian worship service is a celebration, of sorts, of the Trinity, Trinity Sunday explicitly focuses on the mystery, power, and beauty of our Triune God.

But how is worship Trinitarian? Where are the Members of the Perfect Holy Community involved in worship?

Here's Something I'd like for you to think about in preparation for this Sunday:

Theologian James Torrance has made a startling accusation: Many, even most, Christians go about worship in a way that is essentially unitarian, demonstrating no real need for a Son, who is High Priest, or the Holy Spirit. It's a sobering thought, and one that I suspect many Christians would recoil from if similarly accused. How can this be?

Take a look at the Scriptures for Sunday (right column) and do some thinking about the idea of Trinitarian, versus unitarian, worship. Is worship something that we do? And if not, then how are the member of the Trinity involved?

Looking forward to worshiping with you on Sunday!

The Lord be with you!
