STILLSPEAKING
NATIONAL FRIEND RAISING WEEKEND

The celebrations begin with the launch of the next Stillspeaking Internet Ad on Friday, November 5, via the social networking world. We believe that, as with the "Language of God" ad back in April, more than one million viewers will be reached again with the extravagant welcome of the United Church.
But this time we want our UCC churches to also participate in the first Stillspeaking Bring-a-Friend Sunday on November 7. What a triad it will be if we launch the ad, forward it to thousands of other people, and bring a friend to church!
The goal of the Stillspeaking campaign is to help all our beloved UCC congregations grow spiritually and numerically. While the means of technology gains our message an ever expanding audience, it is our personal touch of invitation and welcome that makes it possible for others to join us in worship. Here we are coupling the true and tried practice of invitation with the remarkable capacity of today's means of communication and the power of social networking.
Use everyday from here to November 5-7 to spread the word and rally all the people. Go for it UCC!
So, stay tune for more on the Stillspeaking ad and Bring-a-Friend Sunday. |

Many prayers were lifted up for the Chilean miners rescued after 69 days underground in collapsed mine!
March 4, 2011 we will worship with the women of World Day of Prayer Committee in Chile. The preparation the women began several years ago will culminate in the communal service which will be celebrated around the world on the first Friday in March. The service written by the women of Chile provides us with insight into the lives of the miners, their families and the many wives and women who bake bread in the community and share that bread with others.
We look forward to your worshipping with us on Friday March 4, 2011 on World Day of Prayer. For more information visit our website www.wdpusa.org.

The Oklahoma Conference of Churches (OCC) seeks an Executive Director
The Oklahoma Conference of Churches (OCC) seeks an Executive Director who will advance ecumenism and lead our mission to foster, create, and sustain ecumenical social justice witness by our nearly 1,200 constituent churches of 16 communions. The effective candidate for Executive Director is able to articulate a theological framework for ecumenism today; lead successful programs of ecumenical cooperation both in local communities and in larger settings; demonstrate an understanding of wide-ranging social justice concerns that invite response from the religious community; develop, raise and manage the funding for OCC; supervise a small core staff; recruit, organize and motivate volunteers; develop and evaluate programs; and communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally.
For an application, contact the president of OCC, the Rev. Dr. Rockford Johnson, via email at johnson.rockford@gmail.com and attach a copy of your résumé to the email along with your request for an application form. Applications will be received via email through November 16, 2010.
