NEWS FROM THE
  INTERIM CONFERENCE MINISTER

Blessed Lenten Greetings!

Lent is a time for journeys.  As Christians, throughout the Sundays in Lent we walk with Jesus and his disciples as he gets closer to Jerusalem and the events that would end his life but transform the world.  We walk this journey with Jesus so that we might more fully understand what happened and how it affects our world even 2000 years later.  It is a story that connects with and can be a guide for us in the midst of our modern story of struggles, triumphs, friendships, and voids.  It is a story that can move us to tears and mourning, but ultimately moves us to hope and resurrection.

I have the unique opportunity this Lent to walk this journey in a more direct way.  I will be spending the last days of Holy Week in Jerusalem celebrating Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, and Easter.

This is a trip that I have been planning for over a year and I am looking forward to going and experiencing these events in the city where it all happened those many years ago.

When I was negotiating my call to come to K-O, I shared the news of the trip with the leadership since I knew it would be early in my time here for vacation.  They approved and the current leadership has as well.  I will be on vacation March 17 through April 8, visiting Turkey, Israel, Jordan, and Egypt in those 3 weeks.

If you should need assistance from the conference while I am gone, please contact our Council President, JF Wickey at 580-747-0116 or jfw3rd@yahoo.com.

Judy Vincent will be in the office as usual during this time and can also offer some assistance, 316-686-4331 or jvincent@kocucc.com

Shalom!

Our covenant as local churches, associations, conferences and the national settings of our denomination is made evident through this mission together.

A note from Nancy Wolfe, K-O Conference Communications Coordinator

Some folks have been sending emails to the kofocus@yahoo.com address thinking that they are communicating with the conference staff.  While I am always glad to help, I am not a member of the conference staff.  I am a volunteer working from my home base in Topeka, KS.   The kofocus@yahoo.com address is typically used to submit articles or to subscribe to the K-O Focus or the KO e-NEWS weekly email and to provide feedback on those publications. If you need to communicate with staff, you can best reach them via their direct emails:

Thank You and God bless.
