2 Ways to use Blogs to Market Your Business
|
 |
-ONE- Become a Guest Blogger. Find a blog that would have the attention of your target audience. Ask the owner of the blog if you can submit an article that "ties in" with their message. Within your article, make sure to include your contact information along with any links to your blog or website.
-TWO-
Post comments on blogs. Find some blogs that would have the attention of your target audience, (even if it is a competitor) and post a
thoughtful comment to the author like "...great article, I got so much valuable information. In fact, I agree with your comments about...." Continue by providing some insightful and professional content relevant to their topic. Don't make any type of sales pitch or your comment may be rejected and not posted by the blog host, but be sure to include your links.
Whether or not the author reciprocates on your blog, if his/her subscribers find value in your posted comment, they will click on your links.
With very little effort, you will have generated more leads and perhaps even some business!

Promote Your Business by Telling a Story in 6 Words or Less
|
It can often be challenging to craft just the right "elevator speech". The term elevator speech defines that your marketing or sales "pitch" should take no longer than the time it takes to explain what you do while riding with someone in an elevator. The objective is to be clear and concise and address these 3 key points:
what your product is/service does; who would benefit from buying your product/using your service; and specifically, in what way(s) they will benefit from it.
I offer a new challenge: Tell a "story" in 6 words or less to address the same points. Here's mine:
Virtual Assistant: "To-Do" List - DONE!
It's so simple, yet says so much. What I offer to my clients is a service that is quite
fundamental in its purpose, but is quite diverse in its options. So for that reason, I always found it hard to "zone in" on a concise way to promote my business. When asked, "What do you do?", I would often start giving a lengthy description, when all they really wanted was a quick synopsis. I would love to hear your 6-word story. In fact if you want to send it to me in an email, with your permission I may post it on my blog. (This is a perfect opportunity for some free promotion). Or, if you are struggling to come up with your 6-word story, perhaps that's one of the first items I can assist you with. Quite simply, if you are able to pitch your product or service in 6 words or less, you will surely be remembered. |

And the Winner is ... Collaboration | As I do faithfully each year, this past Sunday night I popped my bowl
of popcorn and cozied up on the sofa to watch the Academy Awards. I
was most excited to see Kathryn Bigelow win the Oscar for Best Director
on the movie "The Hurt Locker". In her acceptance speech, she
acknowledged the "collaborators" on her team who were vital to the
film's success. Each professional collaborator incorporated their
expertise and added greater dimension to the project. They shared a
common goal as each person on the team was invested in producing a
successful outcome.
