My CNN Interview in which I give a shout out to Barbara Kingsolver and most importantly my mom!

Book Club Greetings
I've had fun meeting with book clubs via Skype. If you would like me to join your book club for a discussion, send me an email.  If I can work it out schedule-wise, I'd love to talk with you.

Thank You & Happy Holidays
Greetings!

This year has been one of the most amazing ever thanks to all of your support!

It Was a Wild Ride!

Heidi Speaking
Nature of Words, Bend, Oregon

I walked the red carpet at the NAACP Image Awards, chatted with Terry McMillan in a live webcast (hear the audio of the interview here), received exciting endorsements, and spoke on a CNN Dialogues panel hosted by Wolf Blitzer.

I criss-crossed the country and racked up almost 150,000 miles with visits to almost everywhere--Grand Cayman; Boone, NC; Cape Girardeau, MOWichita, KS; Manasquan, NJ--just to name a few.

Thanks to you--and the great team at Algonquin & Workman--lots of readers found The Girl Who Fell From the Sky when it came out in paperback driving it onto the New York Times bestseller list for a spell as well as the national Indie Bestseller list for almost a year.

Most importantly, I met readers who shared with me their own moving stories, and I met and re-connected with so many writers I admire!

Upcoming Appearances
It's time to focus on the new book I'm working on, but I'll still be doing appearances here and there. In addition to the dates listed below, I'll also be visiting University of Washington, Missouri State, and Exeter (details to come).

Rachel in the BottleMost exciting of all is Portland's community reading program: Everybody Reads 2012.  I'll be giving a special talk on March 6, 2012 at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall to an audience of some 2000!  (Yes, I'm a little bit nervous about that!)
