Dental Services Make a Difference
LACHC, in partnership with World Impact and Arnie Balber,
DDS, is providing dental services to patients in the Watts neighborhood of Los
Angeles, where denture
services are the most desperately desired dental service. The desire to express joy with a full smile is universal. When
missing teeth, like nearly
all of our patients do, a joyful smile reveals a most embarrassing lack. However, through a donation of denture lab services from Dr. Campbell's Century Dental Centers, LACHC and Dr. Balber can now service their worst
cases of tooth loss.
Restoring her smile Virginia, a LACHC dental patient, had not smiled for over
five years. When her teeth were pulled years ago, she had not kept up her
dental appointments and never received her dentures. Having lost her way in
life and in drugs, she had given up hope of having a normally functioning life.
After she and her husband received Christ, though homele ss, were doing
their best to rebuild their lives. Once she saw the hope that forgiveness in Christ brought,
she dared to think about restoring her smile. It took about two months, but her
smile is now constant. Virginia now staffs the front desk for our Watts clinic and recently moved into an apartment with her husband. She's
a constant source of encouragement to the Watts community, especially to the
dozens of homeless individuals who knew her as one of them for years.
The Lord has inspired so many professionals to provide their services to LACHC. The combination of ministry and
healthcare is a challenging environment. Standards of
care bump into limited resources, but by serving
Christ, amazing changes are had by people like Virginia.
