Inspired by the USPS...YES!

Yes! we're inspired! Earlier this month we attended a Sac Postalworld with green people Customer Council (PCC) event. For the most part, print and mail providers have been slow to embrace new media and  we expected more of the same from the USPS. Boy, were we wrong. The Sac PCC hit it out of the park as a champ!

Packaging Shipping: The USPS offers the only cradle-to-cradle package - truly environmentally friendly.

New Media Fans: Katherine Martinez, Mailing Solutions Specialist, is a great resource for new media and direct mail integration.

Every Door Direct Mail: A new and easy online interface that supports highly saturated mail. Great for churches, restaurants and auto dealership outreach.

What's Up with Mobile?

According to Eric Schmidt, Google's x-CEA, a smartphone today has the same capability of a lunar mission in 1969.

Mobile phones outnumber TVs by over 3 to 1 and total laptop and desktop PC population by nearly 5 to 1.

Strategy, Strategy, Strategy!

Our buddy, Piet Levy with the American Marketing Assoc.gold puzzle reminds us of important structure needed when establishing yourself and your business in social media:

Define your Business Goals: What is it you want to achieve? Keep in mind, the context of the platform. Nobody wants to be sold anything on Facebook. They do however, want personal advice or a recommendation.

Look at Other Companies: Look at different organizations, including smaller brands for idea generation.

See What People are Saying and Where: There are tons of free platforms and applications that can help you manage your efforts. Check out Google Alerts for reputation management.

Set Milestones to Track Your Progress: Set meaningful and reachable objectives and evaluate and adjust based on engagement. And, don't ever stop!
