Plug #1: Know the Vision workshop TONIGHT!
Tonight, from 7-9pm, we are hosting the Know the Vision workshop at Metro Offices in Tysons Corner.
If you feel God nudging you, come see us!
DETAILS:
Discover
seven sets of Biblical lenses that you can use to see your situations
more clearly and thus make better decisions. Focus
Eternally-Internally-Externally. Act in Be-Do-Have fashion. Organize yourself
according to the 7-Fold Life. Interact
with others on the Spectrum. Embrace the 3-Fold Passion. Walk the 7-Stage Journey. Be guided Scripturally. Permit yourself to view life more fully. It just might be possible that
you refused to look at life with any other lenses, because you never knew there
was anything else to see.
Cost: $30/person (includes Class Manual) Payment can be made via credit card at our secure website or via check or cash at the door.

Plug #2: TWO FRIENDS OF MINE JUST PUBLISHED BOOKS!!
My friend Elshaddai Gebreyes, a long-time Rekindler, just published an authentic, modern-day collection of poems, titled in whole "The Last Adam". Check it out at Amazon.com!
And another friend, Lisa Ely, the wife of one of my oldest and dearest friends, just co-published a children's book called "Kinder Gardens". It's full of creative ideas to teach valuable "green" ideas to young people and still be enjoyable for them! You can pre-order at Amazon.com!

Plug #3: PHILIPPE PROSPER IS GOING INTO FULL-TIME KINGDOM WORK!!
A new, but good, friend of mine, Phillipe, has heard and obeyed the call from Above to dedicate his life to full-time ministry, working with businessmen in the DC area, sharing the good news that comes from Christ.

"Know thy World"
An
apologetics course showing the natural evidence that God exists and the
supernatural evidence that He authored the Bible. This is a must-take
workshop for any Believer or non-believer who wants to know *why* they
should have faith. Obey 1 Peter 3:15!

THE REKINDLING SMALL GROUP
(We need more guys!)
We have started a flexible, co-ed small group (open to anyone, so
invite whomever you'd like!). We meet twice a month,
on Thursday evenings, to encourage one another through our trials and
exhort one another to consistently live Scripturally.
Rather
than deciding on a specific set of studies, hoping that we can apply
the lessons to our present circumstances, we are going to instead have
each member drop their masks, share their current trials and victories,
and then as a group jump into the Bible to see what It says our
response should be to those challenges and blessings. It's a 'reverse
application' so-to-speak.
So if you would like to be a part of
this, come! We are not asking for a set commitment. Come when you're
free. Let's experiment with some 1st-century church living!
For now, we will be meeting at:
City of Fairfax Library, room 103.
10360 North Street Fairfax, VA 22030 (Free parking)
Meet
at 7:20pm on the upper floor of the parking garage, near the elevators,
and I will let us in.

Here's a quick sample of what you'll be learning at the Know the Vision class:
LENS #4: the
3-FOLD PASSION
See
Mark 12:29-31 and Ecclesiastes 4:12.
(See also 1 Peter 2:21, Ephesians 5:2, Matthew 20:28, 1 John 4:21,
Philippians 2:4, Romans 12:10, Hebrews 10:24, Proverbs 3:8, Galatians 6:10 and
Psalm 133:1.)
Ecclesiastes
points out that 3 cords intertwined are not easily broken. Christ, in Mark 12, explains that the 3 main
cords you need to wrap together in life are:
God, others and self. He goes
onto elaborate that God is the primary cord around which you wrap yourself, not
the other way around. Thomas Merton says
this well, when he admits "I don't worship God so that I can live; I live
so that I can worship God." Another
way to say this is "Stop fitting God into your plans, and instead fit
yourself into His Plans."
In
addition to wrapping your cord around God, you must also allow the cords of
others to wrap up with you. We are not
meant to be solitary servants of God. He
intends for us to live in unity.
So
when you are making a decision or taking action, ask yourself if God is getting
honored, if others are getting impacted and if you are being developed. If the answer is yes to all three, it's a
win-win-win situation, and you can feel confident it is a good choice or
action. If the answer is not yes to one
or more of the 3 cords, then ask yourself what needs to be tweaked (in the
choice or action) to get the answer to be a 3-fold yes. Oftentimes, it won't take much to make it so.

There are physical, intellectual, emotional and supernatural evidences
found throughout the Universe and within the Bible that point to the
conclusion that there is a God and that He authored the Scriptures as a
Message to us.
1 Peter 3:15 tells us to be prepared to give a
reason for the hope you have in Christ Jesus. Do you know why you
believe in God and trust in the Bible?
If not, come to this class
and get a plethora of information and evidence that will strengthen
your faith, or give you faith for the first time.
Find out about:
--the Fibonacci Sequence and why it points to a Creator God
--the mathematical impossibility that the Earth and life happened by chance
--how 96% of the universe is still unmapped
--how
the New Testament has a 99.79% documental purity compared to the
Iliad's 95% (considered by many to be the most accurate piece of

--how Babylonian archaeology backs up the Book of Daniel
--why Noah's Ark is not myth
--how Ezekiel accurately prophesied the end of the British Mandate in 1948
