so what just happened with Rekindling in 2009 and what is going to happen in 2010?? Read on...

YEAR END REVIEW
I have to simply say that I'm floored with what God has done with Rekindling this past year.
--we went from raising $50,648 in 2008 ($19,320 cash + $31,318 in-kind) to $86,277 in 2009 ($71,947 cash + $14,330 in-kind). And this was in the middle of a recession!
--we went from about 50 people following Rekindling in 2008 to over 540 now (via the FIREWATCH, Facebook, Linked-in, etc)! And fyi, the industry average of 'open-rates' for email newsletters is around 21%; FIREWATCH has an open rate of over 30%!
--we went from teaching about 25 people in seven 5-week courses in 2008 to helping administer an Israel mission trip, offering 19 workshops, seminars and retreats, meetings with dozens of individuals for 1on1s and teaching twice a week to youth and adults at a local Chinese church, all this year in 2009!
--we went from posting bi-weekly lessons on the Rekindling blog to signing a contract with an editor to write a 7-book series of Rekindling's material! (We are still working on getting an agent and a publisher, but the ball is moving in the right direction!)
Most of 2008 and a good chunk of 2009 was spent treading water, keeping my head afloat. Over the past few months, God has brought me out of those waters and placed me on a raft.
And rather than comparing and complaining that my raft is not as 'stable' or 'big' as the boats of others, I choose to praise and glorify God for delivering me from the treading water stage to the raft-riding stage!
Papa, I love You and I give You 100% credit for the impact that Rekindling is having. Thank You from the bottom of my heart for giving me this chance to serve You!

OUR 2010 HOPES and PRAYERS!
--$300,000 raised in cash (for office space and two full-time positions)
--reaching over 500 people through 24 different workshops (two a month)and a bi-monthly co-ed, flexible small group; as well as getting over 3000 people following Rekindling via the FIREWATCH, Facebook, etc.
--continued weekly teaching at Harvest Chinese Christian Church and meeting regularly with individuals for 1on1s
--another mission trip to the Middle East, hopefully to encourage and share in the sufferings of the Persecuted Church
--finish the first two manuscripts of the 7-book Rekindling Knowledge series and find a publisher to print them
Proverbs reminds us that "many are the plans in a man's heart, but it's the LORD's purpose that prevails". So I don't set these as goals, but rather requests of the Father. And I trust in Him to enlarge Rekindling's territory at the pace and extent He wants. The name of the game is contentment and excellence in all things, whatever He may bring!

The REKINDLING SMALL GROUP
We are starting up a flexible, co-ed small group (open to anyone, so invite whomever you'd like!) in January. We will meet twice a month, on Thursday evenings, to encourage one another through our trials and exhort one another to consistently live Scripturally.
Rather than deciding on a specific set of studies, hoping that we can apply the lessons to our present circumstances, we are going to instead have each member drop their masks, share their current trials and victories, and then as a group jump into the Bible to see what It says our response should be to those challenges and blessings. It's a 'reverse application' so-to-speak.
So if you would like to be a part of this, come! We are not asking for a set commitment. Come when you're free. Let's experiment with some 1st-century church living!

Meet at 7:20pm on the upper floor of the parking garage, near the elevators, and I will let us in (as the library now closes at 6pm on Thursdays).

you refused to look at life with any other lenses, because you never knew there
was anything else to see.

"Know thy World"
An apologetics course showing the natural evidence that God exists and the supernatural evidence that He authored the Bible. This is a must-take workshop for any Believer or non-believer who wants to know *why* they should have faith. Obey 1 Peter 3:15!
