Greetings!
Merry Christmas!!!!
October through December is by far my favorite time of year, with the onset of fall, the excitement of college football, my birthday and two of the greatest holidays: giving thanks for all the wonderful things in our lives and celebrating the coming of our King Jesus!
In this issue of FIREWATCH, I want to make four brief, but interesting, announcements. So here goes...

A 2010 Rekindling Small Group
 Starting this January, we will begin anew the Rekindling Community!
We know that iron sharpens iron and a cord of three strands is not easily broken. We know that dropping our masks and embracing our messiness allows us to go deeper in our faith. And we know that a group of Christians who apply the Scriptures to the details of their lives is the city on a hill that cannot be hidden.
Thus we are re-forming a small group that will meet twice a month in northern Virginia. The primary focus of this community will be to share the victories and struggles we are having in our lives and how we can apply Scripture principles to them. We will encourage each other to live out the Bible's 3-fold passion of God, others and self.

A Rekindling Book!
 It is time to put all of the Rekindling material into book form. I have found an editor and we are in communications with a book agent!
We are developing a series of seven books unofficially titled "Rekindling's Knowledge Series". The first two books (which LORD willing will be in the stores next winter of 2010-2011) are about the primary perspectives of Rekindling (Eternal-Internal-External, Be-Do-Have, the 7-stage Journey, etc.) and Know Thyself (the program that helps you embrace your God-given Niche in life).
So please be praying that this entire process stays in God's Hands: the timeline, the material, the details, etc. I truly want this to be of God, not me. I'm praying that if God chooses to continue this path, He will use the Rekindling books as tools in His Belt to glorify His Son and further His Kingdom!

Seeking Grant Writer
 Now that Rekindling is in its third year as a 501c3 non-profit, we can begin seriously looking at grants.
These grants will help cover Rekindling's activities such as a 2010 mission trip (in the works as I write this), giving to local individuals in need and monthly workshops.

Seeking Monthly Supporters and Christmas Givers
 In addition to any grants, Rekindling survives on the monthly support of you all. This comes through prayer, encouragement, attendance and donations.
I ask you to please add Rekindling to your regular prayer list, ask the Almighty if He wants you to attend the small group or workshops coming up in 2010, and ask Him if He wants you to become a one-time or even monthly donor for Rekindling.
Rekindling needs to bring in another $2000/month to cover its expenses, which would be 100 people committing to just $20/month.
We are also looking for one-time givers this Christmas season, to aid us in purchasing computer equipment and wrapping up our end-of-the-year needs.
