Greetings!
this is the update for the Israel Team's 24/7 PRAYER CHAIN while they are on their mission.
-If you have already signed up, then you can review the specifics of the prayer chain below. -If you have not signed up yet, but want to, simply reply back to me and let me know which slot you'd like to commit to for the eight days (the unfilled slots are listed below). -If you are not signing up for the Prayer Chain, I ask that you at least say a prayer *for* the prayer chain, that it becomes a powerful tool in God's Hands next week! -We do have several slots that need to be filled still, so everyone please consider committing to one, or passing this info on to others who may be interested!

Israel Team PRAYER CHAIN details
--They are doing some touring Monday, October 19 through
Sunday, October 25.
--They will start their missions work at Shalva on Monday,
October 26 and return to the USA on Sunday, November 01.
--The prayer chain runs from Monday, Oct 26 through Monday,
11/2 (their first full day back home). I
believe the strongest spiritual warfare often takes place when a person returns
from a mission trip, so we want to continue the prayer chain into their first
full day back.
--I hope this reminds each of us that a prayer chain
should never really end. I do encourage everyone to maintain a daily prayer
time for a plethora of prayer needs.
EchoPrayer.com is an excellent, free tool to use to record and maintain
your prayer lists. You can even set it
up where the site will email or text you 'random' prayers from your list at
scheduled times throughout the day. (I have it text me three times a day with a
'random' prayer reminder and I stop what I'm doing and say a quick prayer for
that issue.)
-There is a 7-hour time difference between Washington, DC
and Jerusalem. Your scheduled prayer
slot is DC time.
Remember that whatever we
do in life, it must first and foremost honor and glorify the Ancient of
Days. Second, it must somehow bless and
impact others. And third, it needs to
bless and impact us as well. This comes
straight from Mark 12:29-31.
"Of all the commandments, which is the most
important?" "The most important one," answered Jesus, "is
this: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all
your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' The second is
this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment
greater than these." Mark 12:28b-31 NIV
So as you spend time praying
in your time slot (and a HUGE thank you for being a part of this), remember
that your prayers first and foremost are about God, acknowledging His Majesty
and Love, and our need for Him to be involved in the details of life. Second, it is for the team and Shalva (the children
with special needs center they are working with), and any other persons they
come interact with over there. We are
reaching across oceans and continents to support our brothers & sisters in
Christ, doing our part to encourage and empower them through prayer! And third, this prayer time is for you. Let God reward you and bless you as you live
out His Commandment to pray for one another.
"so
that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have
equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it;
if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it. Now you are the body of
Christ, and each one of you is a part of it." 2 Corinthians 12:25-27
NIV
As you are praying, touch
on each and every one of these items.
And let the Holy Spirit lead you during the prayer time; He may ask you
to lift up other needs as well.
"In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our
weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself
intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And he who searches
our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the
saints in accordance with God's will." Romans 8:26-27 NIV
Following
are the specific prayer requests from the team members:
James:
Please pray for the Salvation of every single person that we
come in contact with. Pray that God will give us a spirit of boldness to
proclaim His love and Gospel in both word and deed. Pray that we will be
able to build lasting relationships with Shalva, Jews for Jesus and any other
locals there. Pray for the safety and health of everyone on the trip. Pray
that we are invisible and that Christ in visible in all of us.
Heather:
Trip
Requests
- Safe Travels for the team there and
back
- Safety in Israel while we are
gone
- Team unity
- Amazing time with Shalva while we
are there
- Building relationships with Sid @
Shalva and working towards an exchange system with the people there and here in
the states
- I pray the people on the team are
able to see the need for Shalva, Jill's House and will look at ways they can be
an advocate both globally and locally.
- I pray our actions would be those
of Jesus and respectful to all we encounter.
- I pray that God will break each one
of us and rebuild us in his holy place!
Personal
Requests
- My sister is bonding with the baby
and has a support system to help her when my family leaves on the 20th
- I leave time daily to do some
school work so I am not completely caught off guard when I come back to 2 tests
and a paper due.
- I pray for time at Shalva to be
inspiring, uplifting, and offer new ideas for my coming back to respite for the
children in Access.
- I pray for my personal health and
energy levels to be high.
- I pray for my thoughts and my heart
to be first and foremost focused on the Lord. Let my responses be those
he would offer.
- I pray that the tour offers new
insights than what I took from it last year
Faith:
pray for trip over on the 25 and who
God has for me to talk to on the plane.
Pray for an aisle seat on the plane
Pray that each of us would stay
healthy while over there.
Pray that we would be a beacon of
light to all we have contact with, on the plane and in and around Jerusalem.
Pray that God would show us ways we
can serve those back here in Access (Jill's House) by learning things at Shalva
Pray that the pain from Arthritis and
back issues would not be a issue in any way,
Pray that "The words of my mouth
and the meditation of my heart would be acceptable in His sight"
Pray we all would be clean vessel's
overflowing His love, that Christ is seen in all we do.
Sabrina:
I would ask for prayer for my husband and children while I am
gone. Jeff will be responsible for handling his job AND shuttling all the
children to various activities, preparing three meals/day, doing homework (and
due to my oldest special needs he requires about 2-3 hours/night of 1:1 help
with this), laundry, housework, etc, etc. Additionally, 3 of
the 4 children really don't do well with the routine disrupted. I would
worry less if I know that they were covered in prayer regarding patience,
flexibility, endurance/strength, ease of homework, general well being. As
for me-I would ask for knowledge of and strength/courage to implement whatever
God wants me to do on this trip. I would also ask for safety.
Evan:
-our mission,
both known and unknown, goes successfully for the glory of God and God's great
love of each team member.
-Please pray
that each team member stores up a reservoir of God's love in order to love
those children and their families from the overflow.
-Please pray
that those kids and all who encounter us can't help but see God's great love
shining through in each of us.
-Finally, please
pray that each team member return from this mission touched by God.
Uyen:
-simply travel safety and physical safety. My past experience
traveling overseas there has always been incidents of being mugged or something
that nature. Also I am especially prone for losing items, since I am
notorious in forgetting things :(
-Also even with the schedule being so full during the tour part to be
connected with God. Prayer for my eyes to be open to what God wants me to
see (and capture in pictures). To have the endurance and stamina to write
my experiences down. My equipment to operate and function (many times I have
gone on travel and the camera has some issue).
-To experience Him during the touring, volunteering week, and to connect
with the Israelis.
-To be transformed by this experience, to hear God's whisper, and
acknowledging him always.
-On my return, I pray for wisdom in purchasing a car. I pray for open doors
in seeking a new job opportunity. Or if so God desires, if I get laid
off, that I can use the time to seek on a deeper level.
-Keeping steadfast
as I am on this journey of learning to love him with all my heart, mind and
soul.
Marisol:
foremost that I will be open, attentive, willing & obedient to
that still small voice. that I do not ignore the Holy Spirit's prompting
anytime, that I make wise choices, that I have the submissive attitude of a
servant & specially that I let the Lord in, in all areas of me that need
work (which I know there are lots) & that I rid any idols, specially
family, worry & pride...As if that is not enough, pray that
I have the desire to immerse in His word and not only that, but that
I have the will to pursue that desire. Pray that my heart is truly REKINDLED
for our Father & my passion renewed in a disciplined way (as I know love by
itself is not enough), so help me by praying that I act in a way
that my walk & talk go together; to be an honorable ambassador of
our King here on earth & to remember there are always people who can be
reached for Elohim by the way I live b/c they are watching how I live & I
need to focus on Him so my life may be a testimony to others.
Leticia:
1) Prayers for team unity as we begin to move in one direction and
for one purpose (which is to minister to hurting people and see others come to
faith).
2) Prayers for my health, total healing, and stamina.
3) Prayers to come to know my Lord and Savior in an even deeper, more profound
way as a result of this trip to the Holy Land.
4) Prayers for us to let go of our agendas sometimes and watch God really
work! May God help us to have eyes that see and ears that hear. May
He show us how to love at all times and in all circumstances in a way that is
pleasing to Him.
5) I pray for our personal growth as well as our collective development - that
we will stretch out of ourselves and become Christ with skin on.
6) I pray for Frodo (my dog). He generally gets sick when I'm gone
this long and he's old. And that makes me sad. So, prayers for his
protection while I'm away.
Jennifer:
1. I would love if my dad believed in
Jesus like the rest of the family....he's been resisting for years...but
seeking as well. I pray that whatever stories and experiences that my mom
and I bring back with us will spark more interest for my dad. A little
background is that he used to go to
Catholic school and was jaded by religion because of the corruption that he
saw. He told my mom to look for something in Israel (even though my mom
can't quite remember), I pray that he finds what he is looking for in Israel by
listening to our stories. He'll be home alone for a week and traveling
back from NYC by himself. I pray for his safety and that God will be able
to move him this week in our absence.
2. I pray for my Chinese Community
church and the new changes its going through with elections for the board and
new pastor. God is definitely working there and I'm excited to see what
glory God will bring there.
3. I pray for my friends, family and
supporters. I pray that God will continue to bless them so they can
continue to be prayer warriors for God.
4. I praise God for all the exciting
stories I've heard on this journey so far and I pray that God will continue to
strengthen us for what he has planned for our team. I'm really excited to
see what God will do in Israel to bring him glory.
5. I pray for our team in
general for our busy lives. I know I've been traveling and over-working.
I pray that we can continue to keep our busy lives God-centered.
6. I pray for our journey back as
well. When we come back to our daily lives. That will be a God
glorifying story in itself.
7. I thank God for the opportunity to
meet all the wonderful parts of the body of Christ. It's so wonderful to
see us work together because we are all different but under the same God.
I pray that we continue to be unified throughout this journey.
Cam:
-My
first prayer request is for my family here at home (including you). I
pray that our Lord will keep them safe from any attacks and any harm (Physical,
mental, and spiritual). In particular my oldest sister who is five and a
half months pregnant with a miracle baby and has already been attacked.
She slipped in the bathroom yesterday and was in a car accident today and had
to go to the hospital to make sure the baby was ok. Faithful as always
the Lord kept the baby safe (good heart beat, no hemorage or damage to the
placenta). However, there was some premature contractions, which was a
bit scary but now under observation and control.
-My amazing and beautiful mother and
awesome step dad... I pray they stay safe, and together with the Lord in their
day to day relationship.
-My amazing and precious
girlfriend. That our Father keeps her safe from ALL attacks, and that she
feel His comfort and support in her day to day endeavors. That her exams
go excellent and that our God of miracles heal her from any and all
medical/physical conditions. That we pray for each other every day and
somehow by our Father's hand grow closer to each other even though we're
physically apart.
-For my siblings, and my precious
nieces that this journey somehow be a testament from the Lord in their hearts
and that their eyes be opened fully to Him, our King Jesus.
-I pray for ALL my brothers and
sisters in Christ who are staying back here at home supporting us through
prayer and other ways.
-I pray that my "team buddy"
(James Whitley) and I bond and become forged as not only brothers in Christ,
but as close friends.
-Last but NOT least. I pray that
despite myself, our Lord will use me EXACTLY for HIS purpose. That I find
it in my heart to deny myself completely in this trip for the sake of my team,
family, the people of Israel, and ultimately for Jesus Christ... and that this
trip bring me MUCH closer to Him so that I may, God willing, realize myself as
I finish school and chase my dreams, not for myself, but hopefully for God and
the dreams HE gave me!
Kellie:
I was trying to think of something really great to have our prayer
partners pray about, but all I really want is just to have an open mind
and heart to whatever God has to show me. I also pray that I can show the
kids at the Shalva Center Christ's love. Ok thats it.
Bryan:
My prayer requests for the trip are for my heart to be wide open
to the magnitude of the places we'll be. For sound sleep while in country
(I'm on a mid shift right now). For safety for the group. Finally that I
be a light to those who aren't believers.
Mike:
- I've personally been struggling with major doubts and I hope
this trip will change things.
- Pray for health during the whole trip but especially during the missions
part.
- pray for courage when needed in the proper situation
- pray for humility
- help us listen to the needs of the people we're serving
- make it so there is no doubt in their minds that we are serving Christ.
Here is the Prayer Chain schedule, and the slots already filled.
If you know of anyone who would like to take a unfilled slot (or even double up
on a filled slot), have them contact me directly. Shannon@rekindlingministries.com

And that should cover
everything. Once again, thank you for
being a part of this chain. Upon the
team's return, we'll collect their daily journals and summarize the victories
and battles of the trip, with what time they happened, so we all can see how
effective prayer truly is!
When we get on God's
Radar, we get on the Enemy's radar too.
So we must coat this entire trip in prayer; we must play our part in the
spiritual battles that are taking place in the Holy Land and around the world.
Father, we
put this team, this mission and this prayer chain in Your Hands. Work with it and protect as You see fit. May we all be tools in Your Hands to work and
toil Your Kingdom. May You be glorified!

and that's it for this special FIREWATCH.
In the next two weeks, I'll send out an update of the team's journey as well as some other adventures that Rekindling is up to!
forever His and sincerely yours, shannon
