24-hour, eight-day Prayer Chain

The Israel team, all 13 members (James, Heather, Faith, Sabrina, Evan, Uyen, Marisol, Jennifer, Kellie, Leticia, Mike, Bryan and Cam), are heading over to Israel in a little over a week!
Starting on 26 October, they will be spending a week working with Shalva, an incredible Jerusalem-based association that provides a
therapeutic and supportive environment that advances the special needs
child and enables the family to raise that child while living a normal
and healthy lifestyle.
The fact that this group is willing to head over to the Middle East in the midst of all that is going on, all to shine the light of Christ in a dark region of the world and live out His Love by serving others in need, inspires me!
For those of you who have had the remarkable experience of doing any kind of ministry work, especially overseas, you already know 1) the life lessons and changes that occur within you and 2) the spiritual warfare that occurs around you and to you.
With that understanding, we know and believe strongly in the power of prayer. Ephesians 6, James 5 and other passages teach us that we are to reach out across distances in spiritual bonding by praying for our sisters and brothers in Christ. God chooses to use the prayers of the faithful to impact His Kingdom.
And so we are arranging a 24-hour, eight-day (10/26-11/2) prayer chain. Our goal is to have at least one person praying every minute of every day for the entire time they are doing their work. Whether they are sleeping, praying, traveling, serving, eating, laughing, crying, struggling or rejoicing, the team can know that someone, at the very hour, that very minute, is on their spiritual knees praying for them. It's a powerful realization for them to lean on.
The team is going to be keeping track of the highs and lows of the experience, the spiritual battles and victories, recording exactly when they happened, so that we Prayer Warriors can know directly and specifically how effective and impactful our prayerful support is.
So if you would like to be a part of this, simply respond back to me and let me know which time slot you want to commit to. I have set up 48 30-minute time slots. Each person that commits to this Prayer Chain will commit to one 30-minute time slot (or more if you want) and pray during that time every day at the same time, for those eight days. So if you choose to sign up for the 3am-3:30am time slot, you will get up each night at that time to pray for the team. (Don't forget there is a 7-hour time difference from Washington DC to Jerusalem. So praying at 3am locally will be when they are starting their days over there.)
For those who sign-up, I will be sending out a suggested prayer list, as well as updates on the team's adventures and needs.
Friends, this is an incredible way to 1) glorify God through trusting His power through prayer, 2) support and encourage a group of Believers acting on their faith and 3) receive some powerful lessons and blessings for yourself because of your prayerful devotion. This means we are living out Mark 12:29-31, the greatest command our King Jesus gives us!
So I really hope this resonates within you and you choose to be a part of a powerful eight days.
