Today is the official 2-year birthday of Rekindling, as a 501c3 non-profit!
So I just want to give a huge shout out to my God, for making this all happen, planting the seed seven years ago and watering it and making it grow as much as it has!

ISRAEL EXPEDITION FUNDRAISER TODAY!

The team going to Israel in November is having a fundraiser today at Woody's Golf Range in Herndon, VA. Come join them and support them on this great exercise of serving God's Kingdom.
For $20, you get 3 hours of putt-putt, batting cages and the driving range!
And please continue to pray for these 15 people, as they fight spiritual battles, raise the necessary funds and prepare themselves to serve the special needs children of Jerusalem.

My Top 20 Spiritual Realizations
 This past week, I posted a list of the top 20 spiritual realizations I have come to over the years studying the Scriptures in-depth. Check it out and remind yourself what your faith is all about. Let it stir you up as you recall that your trust in Christ Jesus is the greatest decision you've ever made!

Stop giving lip-service to Agape Love!
 I also posted this week a description of what God intends us to do with Agape Love.
All of us know God commands us to love one another, and most of us say we do. But do we really? Exactly in the way God meant? By taking a look at the break-down of the Greek words and phrases used in 1 Cor 13 (the Love Chapter), we can get a pretty good idea of what is expected of us.
Something that immediately jumps out to most of us is 1) we aren't loving exactly as God wants us to and 2) it's super hard to do so! Fortunately, we have the Holy Spirit who will give us the desire to live out Agape Love, the understanding of how to do so and the power to carry it through (see Isaiah 11:2-3).
So I really encourage each of you to check out the post, meditate on it, pray about, and ask God to show you both where you are excelling in the area of Agape Love and where you are falling far short.

WE ARE SEEKING FOUR VOLUNTEERS!!!
I want to give all of you an update on where we stand administratively and financially at Rekindling, and where we are headed:
The first six months of Rekindling Ministries (Jul '07 - Dec '07) was a formation time, and we did not actively seek donations.
The first full fiscal year of Rekindling Ministries (Jan '08 - Dec '08) we received $19,319.76 in monetary donations and $31,368.80 from in-kind donations such as equipment, meeting room space and volunteer hours. With all of that, we were able to offer a year's worth of classes to 24 Rekindlers and help several individuals in financial need!
So far, at the half way point of 2009, we have received $23,328.02 in monetary donations and $12,208.72 from in-kind donations! So God continues to bless us, enlarging our territory in the middle of a recession! With all this, we are continuing to offer workshops and material on rekindling your passion for God, others and self (including bi-weekly teaching at a local Chinese church and bi-monthly workshops at City of Fairfax Library), as well as being able to act out our passions by supporting individuals in need and the November mission trip to Israel!
 Our total goal for this year is to raise $130,464.00 (providing another mission trip, several special service projects, a full-time staff position and a Rekindling Handbook, along with other administrative needs).
To reach this goal, we are focusing on two main areas: grants and workshops. Thus we are passionately in the need for four (4) volunteer positions to be filled. Two grant-seeker positions and two marketing/advertising positions (to sell our Rekindling workshops).
Each position would require about 5 hours per week. If you feel led by God to help out with grant-seeking or the marketing of our workshops, please contact me! Or if you know anyone who would be interested, pass this on to them and let them know!
I praise God from the bottom of my heart that He has blessed Rekindling so much these past years. Our growth shows that God's Hands are on us. And I thank Him for letting us get to the point where we now need extra help as we work through our growing pains. Father, may You be glorified in all that we do; please continue to use Rekindling to expand Your Kingdom!
