PA State Budget?

Not yet!  While a deal on the budget seemed imminent, there have been some last minute issues that have caused numerous House Democrats to back away from supporting the deal.  Today the Senate passed a revised version of the budget that they hope will pass the House.
Pennsylvania heads towards the 100-day mark without a budget and many more problems on the horizon.  The school funding issue seems resolved with the PA Department of Education seeing an increase of approximately $300 million this year.  It's an ever changing situation - we'll keep you posted on any changes.

October Education Ideas

September 15 - October 15 is Hispanic Heritage Month.  Celebrate by providing students with the opportunity to explore the Spanish language with each other, by allowing them to bring in and sample various Hispanic dishes, as well as providing them with informative background on Hispanic culture. There is so much you can do!

October 16 - October 16th is National Dictionary Day and Noah Webster's birthday! The father of the American Dictionary provides us with plenty of opportunities to explore the English language and expand students' vocabulary.
