Remembering The Mother's

Mother's Day, Memorial Day, and Father's Day will soon unfold a season of renewal and remembrance. Churches and funeral homes in particular, offer comfort and support to families, honoring our fallen heroes on Memorial Day through public acknowledgement and ceremony. When it comes to Mother's Day and Father's Day however, who comforts parents who have suffered loss of a baby family member? Often forgotten and alone, they endure unfathomable sorrow.
No bereaved parent should have to grieve in isolation while everyone openly honors mother and fathers of living children.
Last year for the very first time AgapéCare Cradle, a charitable organization and licensed funeral establishment caring for families through the tragedy of losing a baby, published special ads on Mother's Day and Father's Day. These ads acknowledged Kansas parents whose babies have died before birth or as infants, recognizing them as legitimate parents equal to any other parent. AgapéCare Cradle was able to publish the ads through the generosity of sponsors who gave financial gifts to cover the cost.
Mother's Day
A day to honor EVERY mother including moms
who have lost children from the womb
or as infants.
Mothers who have lost babies are
no less moms but are sometimes
forgotten on Mother's Day.
On Mother's Day this year please
take a moment to say a kind word
send a note or card
give a hug
or simply listen to a mom
who holds her precious baby
close in memory
and forever in her heart. |
