Happy New Year!
With the New Year upon us, Capitol students, faculty, staff and alumni have a lot to look forward to in 2011. The announcement that Capitol received an $80,000 BRAC grant from the state of Maryland ended 2010 on a high note, and with upcoming events and expanding graduate degrees, 2011 promises to be another great year for the Capitol community!

BRAC Grant Awarded To Capitol College In late December, Lt. Governor Anthony G. Brown announced that Capitol College had received one of 11 BRAC Higher Education grants, worth $80,475. The grant will be used to build upon Capitol's Cyber Battle Lab and continue the development of Capitol's cybersecurity academic program.
With help from the grant, Capitol will partner with other two-year and four-year higher education institutions in Maryland to build the cybersecurity virtual resource lab. The collaboration will increase research opportunities and virtual resource development for students and faculty at Capitol and partnering institutions.
"Capitol College appreciates the recognition from the State of Maryland, and we are committed to the Maryland initiative of cybersecurity," President Wood said. "The BRAC Higher Education grant affords Capitol College the opportunity to improve and expand our renowned cybersecurity program and facilities."
