February 2012 Theme:
"First Love"

Dear Friends and Church Family:
Where is winter? I'm looking at the calendar and I know what day and what month it is, but winter has failed to show up!
Well, although the grocery stores started selling candy hearts the day after Christmas, we are finally into Valentine's month--February--and here at Regional Church, we're adopting the theme "First Love" for the month. You know, when we place our Father God in His right priority--as literally our First Love--then we are on our way to understanding and maturing the other relationships in our lives. So, throughout the month, we'll be focusing on different aspects of love in our sermon topics: reconciliation, devotion, connection, and transformation.
This month we'll be partnering with believers all over the nation and beyond in a 40-day prayer emphasis from February 22-April 1. We're calling our local emphasis, "Seek God for the Region," and I'll be sharing more in detail about this from the pulpit, in additional emails and on Facebook. We will be setting up some strategic prayer walks and times for corporate prayer. Also, we'll be launching a new ministry called "Synergy" in the month of February, and while we're still in the planning stages, I can tell you that the end result will be a closer-knit church family where everyone has a chance to be connected. It goes beyond small groups, because instead of just grouping people by common interests and age groups, the groups that will form actually transcend generational lines and include all age groups! We want our older generation, our young adults, our teens, our kids to intermingle and become, well, FAMILY!
I'm also pleased to announce that at the end of the month, Joel Talley will return to hold a four-night revival. We all know that these services have historically produced a packed house, full of the move of the Holy Spirit. Regional Church is, after all, a Pentecostal church...and I'm looking forward to what I believe will be a deep season of refreshing. Let's try to bring as many lost loved ones as we can to these special services, and to all the services throughout the month. 2012 is a year where we want to stress faithfulness to be in the house of God.
Along that line, I want to continue to encourage you to be in church this year. There is a Divine gravitational pull to the house of God for those who are His! Hebrews 10:25 (Amp), "Not forsaking or neglecting to assemble together [as believers], as is the habit of some people, but admonishing (warning, urging, and encouraging) one another, and all the more faithfully as you see the day approaching." Truly "the day" is approaching. Today, 2/4/12, President Obama was calling again for the Syrian King to step down. All part of the prophetic process...Ten Kingdoms coming (Revelation 13.1), Church departing (2 Thess. 2.7-8), Antichrist emerging (Dan. 7-8)! Time to be ready. Ten kingdoms must emerge on the scene out of 23 or so Middle Eastern Governments that are there now...Antichrist will come from the northern division of the Grecian part of the old Roman Empire...all outlined in Daniel 7,8 and 11. Before Antichrist appears from the 10, 2 Thess 2.7-8, declares the church will depart from the earth. It is the powerful Blood-bought church that "restrains" the lawless one from appearing, and must be "taken out of the way."
It is my great pleasure and calling to serve as your pastor...see you in the house of the Lord this month!
Pastor Mitch

"Seek God for the Region" 40 Day Prayer Initiative - February 22 to April 1
Beginning February 22 through April 1, we will be involved in a 40-day prayer emphasis, "Seek God for the Region". We will be targeting the 7 Mountains of Culture: Family, Church, Education, Business, Media, Government, and Arts & Entertainment. These seven areas are targeted by Satan to be strongholds of control in our culture. As a part of our prayer strategy we are hoping to do several on-site prayer gatherings at several significant locations around our region, simply to ask the Lord to bless, protect, lead and direct all of the facets of the work and workers.

Synergy - Launch Night
Sunday, February 19
6:00 PM
We're so excited to launch an all-new concept for merging the generations into one tight-knit, functional, living, breathing Body of Christ! In the future, expect to see some awesome activities planned for people of all ages, with events at least once a month. We want everyone to feel loved, needed, and validated at Regional Church, so among the ways we intend to pull everyone together are some times of fellowship and fun activities. This first evening's event will be a blast! Our adults and teens will be meeting at the church social hall for some really great activities planned by Krystal Logan, Ashley Wallace, and our entire Synergy Planning Team. Our children's ministry will meet at the old Burch High School gym (on the hill) for an awesome evening of fun activities directed by Angie Woolum. What will we be doing? Well, you'll just have to see it to believe it...but there will be hot dogs and refreshments, and lots of laughter, chatter, and bonding.

These weeks have been a decidedly slower pace for me here, as Beth and I have entered into a time of fasting and prayer. The only teaching I'm doing during this time is a home Bible study. We will be at the Oak Initiative with Rick Joyner a little later on in the month.
Sometimes the most important thing a person can do is to set aside a quiet time to listen for direction, but in times like this, there aren't a lot of activities to report. I do, however, want to share a good report about some of the ladies in the Bible study I taught this past Monday. Several women received spiritual and emotional healing as we studied the story of Mephibosheth, and in particular, the nurse who accidentally dropped him as a child. The Holy Spirit moved in a powerful way to bring healing, praise the Lord.
Also, on the property here, we have a small building which we use for prayer only. We're doing some work to get that building back in order.
Thank all of you for your prayers and support, I'll be in touch!
--Marshella
UPDATE! One of the ladies who had received a deep spiritual healing in that class has just discovered that her healing went beyond spiritual. She went back to her doctor and was told that they cannot find any trace of breast cancer she'd been diagnosed with! Healed, in Jesus' name!

HOUSE OF HOPE
JANUARY REPORT
 | |
June Jude, House of Hope Director
|
God so blessed us last year. He wonderfully provided everything we needed, so I know that this year will be even more blessed. Our new facility is working out very well. We are able to serve our clients much quicker than when we had to use the two offices. We have so much more room to store our food, and to store our boxes when we are ready to have our give away.
This morning started out a little rainy. We still had clients lining up at 7:45 AM. We had several who asked for prayer this month. One lady stated that as she started out to pick up her food, God spoke and said, "Have them to pray for you today." She is going for biopsies tomorrow. They are checking her for bone cancer. We are believing that she will receive a good report. They will not find anything wrong with her.
Also many of the clients today expressed their gratitude for all the hard work that we do, and for providing a much-needed service for our community. Some would have to do without food if it were not for the pantry.
This month we served 189 families--496 individuals-- 276 adults, 155 children, and 65 elderly. To God be the glory.
Thanks again to all of you who make this ministry possible. From those who give money for us to buy the food, to those who volunteer their time and energy, we could not do it without you. May God richly bless all of you.
In His Service,
June Jude
Next food distribution date: Monday, February 27.
Proof of identification, proof of residence and proof of household income is required.

PRISON
MINISTRY NEWS
 | | Tammy Sheppard, Prison Evangelist |
We asked Tammy Sheppard to recap the 2011 year for us. Here's what she wrote!
At SWRJ: Understand I am part of a team of volunteers who share in these numbers. There has been an average total of 156 services held at South Western Regional Jail. In these services, there has been an average of ten salvations a night. This gives us well over 1000 decisions for Christ for the year of 2011. Also, through donations, a Bible is given to every inmate that asks for one. This makes over 1200 Bibles given into the hands of an inmate for the year 2011.
Services are also being held at Lakin Womens' Prison in Point Pleasant WV. It is a 5-hour round trip to this facility. Services are being held 2 times a month. Many women of different religious backgrounds attend these services. I have seen many converts to Christianity including women who practice Wicca. God has a mighty call on many of these women's lives, and is sending them into the harvest field. An average conservative total of decisions for Christ for the year 2011 at Lakin Women's Correctional Faciluty has been around 70, with over 100 receiving the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Also, two women have reported to be healed of severe bleeding and cancer!
God is so good, and I want to thank you for your prayers and generous giving that hep make the Prison Ministry possible. This gives credit to your account in Glory. All I want to hear, as I am sure you do as well: "Well done, good and faithful servant!" To God Be All The Glory!
