We have quite a few people in our congregation right now who are struggling with physical needs such as health and finances.
Read James 5:13-20 and then please pray for healing in our bodies from our physical infirmities and pray for God to provide for all of our physical needs.
Take a minute and pray right now...

A Word of Encouragement
"Deliver me, O LORD, from my enemies; In You I take shelter. Teach me to do Your will, For You are my God; Your Spirit is good. Lead me in the land of uprightness. Revive me, O LORD, for Your name's sake! For Your righteousness' sake bring my soul out of trouble." - Psalms 143:9-11 NKJV
If you're like me, there are times when you feel that you should be doing a better job being a Christian. I mean doing the things that you know God wants you to be doing. But instead you find yourself stuck in old habits and sins that keep you from being effective for the Lord and drive a wedge in your relationship with Him. You know you should be more mature and obedient, but sometimes you find it hard to do God's will.
So you confess your sin, repent, and try again to get back on the right path. Great! Keep that up! But have you ever tried asking God to teach you to do His will? You see, we tend to forget that we are all like sheep and can go astray. When a sheep gets in trouble - when goes into a place where it knows it should not be - it cries out for help, and if there is a shepherd around to hear it, he comes to its rescue.
Let's not forget that we are not left alone to struggle through this life. We have a Good Shepherd who not only protects us and comes to our aid, but teaches us how to be better followers. Call out to the Lord to teach you to do His will. |
Children's Ministry
A little Bible trivia: What do all of these have in
common?
- The boy who shared his lunch (John 6:5-14)
- The widow who gave all her money (Mark 12:41-43)
- Lydia's hospitality to Paula and others (Acts 16:6,
13-15)
- The Good Samaritan (Luke 10:30-37)
While we could possibly accept several answers, the
one we are looking for is: Service. Each individual from the events
listed above, provided a service in one way or another.
Last month we
talked about being responsible. Responsibility is an extremely important
virtue, but service means taking it one step further and going the
extra mile by doing things that we may not even be responsible for.
Bring your children out on Sundays so they can dive in
the Bible with us and hear what our Lord has to say about service. Upcoming children's ministry events:
- August 29th- Back to school event for kiddos
- November 21st- Thanksgiving Play
- December 19th- Christmas Play
Donations needed: Gently used toys for the nursery |
