Prayer Corner
After last year's Future Quest in California,
several of our teens decided to start a revolutionary Christian club on their
campus at Willow Canyon High School.
They wanted a club that was unashamed to pass out Bibles on campus, pray at the
flagpole, do outreaches at lunch and do real Bible studies and worship at
school, so they founded "S.O.A.R." (Sold Out And Radical). SOAR is taking the
lead on doing outreach at Willow
Canyon and they can use
all the prayer support we can give. Take a minute and pray for SOAR right now...

Vision

Future Quest Youth Conference is the largest, most
ambitious single event we've ever attempted. Our drive for Future Quest begins
IMMEDIATELY. Our entire budget for this event is based on registration so we
are asking everyone who plans to attend or volunteer at Future Quest to sign up
and give the registration fee today. Wait a minute...you mean we're asking
VOLUNTEERS (those hard working souls who will help us chaperon, feed, care and
clean up after 200 teenagers) to actually pay the registration fee? Yes, you
read it right here - even the Pastor is paying the registration fee because our
general fund budget will not allow us to pay for the event. We need everyone's
help. So please sign up today at www.futurequestaz.info

This Coming Sunday, April 18, 2010

Jumping to conclusions is
not a wise habit but it's so easy to avoid the effort required to think a
matter through. A recent You Tube video was enlightening. In the video, a speaker
questions average folks, saying: "Why don't people go to church?" A majority of
people seemed to believe church was just not relevant to their lives - they
just didn't have time for it. Religious thinking makes church a burden, not a
blessing. Jesus wants us to see our "Sabbath day" from God's perspective. And
that can make all the difference both for believers and all those folks who,
when asked about church, might say: "I don't have time for it." Join us as we
study Mark 2: 23 - 27 with a message called "A Real Confidence". See ya
Sunday. Coming up.... April 25 Mark 3: 1 - 6, "A Real Contrast" Real action for finding purpose in your life. May 2 Mark 3: 7 - 19, "Chosen" Being part of the plan of God.

A Word of Encouragement
Mark 10:27
And Jesus looking
upon them said: With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all
things are possible.
Jesus had just made it clear
to the rich young ruler that he had to be willing to sacrifice everything to
follow Jesus. When the disciples heard it, Jesus said it was easier for a camel
to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God. Of course, they knew a camel going
through the eye of a needle is just plain impossible and you can see their
confusion and despair. But Jesus doesn't tell them they've just got to try
harder nor does He expect them to do the impossible. Instead, He points them
back to an attitude to DEPENDANCE and TRUST in God as the author and sustain er
of what everyone thinks is impossible. In our lives there will be
situations and habits that we can honestly say are impossible. There are true
"no win" situations in life but with God's power inside us we can be
victorious. This is the miracle of having faith in God's unlimited power to
help us. If you've been following Jesus for any length of time you will find
yourself facing the test of THESE words. You will one day wonder how God can
continue to put up with you and even be afraid He's given up - because you just
keep messing up time and time again. If it's not one thing, it's another and
you hear a little voice in your head that says: "it's impossible. You can't
live a life that pleases God. You may as well give up." And you know it's true
- you can't live a perfect life. It may seem impossible to you that God can
forgive you for a LIFETIME of mistakes - but He can and He has if you've put
your trust in Him. It's impossible for you and I to understand when we can't
even truly forgive ourselves but with God, it is possible - in fact, it's
guaranteed in blood. This is why we fall down at His feet and worship because
we who are so far from His glory can be brought near.

Thank You
Thank you Kurt Klosowski for
volunteering as one of our drivers pulling the trailer each Sunday morning.
Kurt is just recovering from foot surgery but he didn't let that stop him from
bringing the trailer this past Sunday. He was using a crutch but he brought us
the trailer. Thanks Kurt.
