Prayer Corner
Pray for New Beginnings Church in north Surprise. New Beginnings is led by Pastor Robert Cross. They're in the midst of challenges with the school they meet in (something we can relate to) so pray that God will clear the way for them in terms of a meeting place, as He wills. Take a minute and pray right now... |

Vision
Our "Map to the Future" series is being DELAYED. In our preparation time, we've discovered this is a much bigger topic than can be reasonably covered on a Sunday morning - even in an extended series. For this reason, we've decided to make "Map to the Future" a extended class where people can ask questions and dialogue on the topic of end times events. This class will be scheduled later in the spring - we'll keep you posted. |

This Coming Sunday, March 7, 2010
Mark chapter one has given us some powerful lessons in trusting God over the last few Sunday and there's so much more where that came from. Beginning at verse 21, we're going to learn some important truths about the authority of God and His foresight. These understandings can do so much to boost our confidence in God. Come on out this week as we continue to explore Mark Chapter 1: 21 - 27 with a message called "Authority". See ya Sunday. |

A Word of Encouragement
2 Corinthians 5: 7, 9 (NKJV) For we walk by faith, not by sight....Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him.
To walk in the light of God's word and strive to live a life pleasing to God takes motivation but we cannot base our motivation to live the Christian life off of any single spiritual experience. To do so is shallow and dangerous because every emotional experience is temporary. Instead we need to base our motivation upon the truth of who God is - despite any emotional evidence. It is certainly true that we can experience a spiritual high at a retreat or after listening to a particularly inspired speaker but if we base our motivation on this experience we will forever be expecting God to repeat the experience or else God somehow risks our disappointment. But God does not work this way. We are expected to walk by faith, not sight (sensory or emotional experiences) and when we do, God does occasionally grant us these spiritual highs. Still, we should see these experiences as blessing, which are special, not ordinary. We need to continue to strive to live a life that is pleasing to God because we stand firm, despite our emotions, knowing that God is real, His creative genius is all around us and this, not our feelings, proves His great love. |
Thank You
Tori and Martha Correa took the time to put Future Quest stickers on all the candy bars for our fundraiser. That's a lot of stickers. Thanks. |
