Prayer Corner
Please pray for our Leadership Development Team as they are forming and coming together for the planning of our future. This team will be evaluating our critical processes along with critiquing and improving them. They will also be looking at what items are needed for our future budget, what teams need to be organized to better implement certain processes and functions within the church, and how to best communicate all these things to the church body. We believe this sort of detailed planning is essential to
encouraging continued growth and effectiveness for FourteenSix into the future.
Take a minute and pray right now....

This Coming Sunday, September 27, 2009

Everyone goes through
challenges in life and we all have wondered at one time or another "Why doesn't
God act and solve my problem?" Sometimes we get to a stopping point in our
lives, we look back and suddenly we see how going through a tough time taught
us some valuable lesson or we see how a challenge in life led us to make a
choice we now enjoy. But no matter how often or how well we can look back it
doesn't seem to help in our current situation just knowing that God had a plan
all along. What can help is keeping a Godly perspective on the challenge of
life. It isn't always easy but it can make a real difference. Come on out this
week for a message called "Looking Through The Window". You'll be glad you did.
See ya' Sunday....
Coming up....
- October 4 - Colossians 3:18-22 "Family Portrait"
- October 11 - Colossians 3:22 - 4:1 "Employee of the Month"

A Word of Encouragement

"Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven
is at hand!" Matthew 3:2 (NKJV)
John the Baptist was a prophet, a man of God, who
heard the voice of God and relayed what he heard to the people. It had been 400
years since God had spoken to the people and the first word from the Lord was
"repent". Repent means to turn around. The Kingdom of Heaven
is not just the concept of heaven "some day" - it is, instead, the rule and
power of God working in our lives. This is why it says "at hand" because we can
experience the power of God right now. He can empower us to defeat our
self-destructiveness and can empower us to enjoy an abundant life. All that we
have to do to begin experiencing the rule of God in our lives is to "Repent."
But too often people think repentance just means stopping some sort of activity
or sin. It can mean that but it is much deeper, too. Very simply, to repent
means to continually turn from a self-directed life (where you and your
emotions rule your life decisions) and turn to a Jesus-directed life (where the
principles of His Bible rule your life decisions). This sort of continual
giving up control over to the leading of God, through the instructions and
guidance we find in His Bible, is repentance and it guarantees us entrance into
the Kingdom of Heaven.

Improve Your Spiritual Hearing
There are many times when we would like to hear God's take on a
situation we are dealing with. By that I mean we need direction or
advice from God. So we will usually pray to Him and ask for an answer
to our problem. But the issue that remains is how to know when we have
our answer. How do we hear God's voice? Here are some tips to improve our "spiritual hearing."
Take care of any unconfessed sin you are harboring.
This is probably the number one hindrance to hearing God's voice. Psalm
66:18 says "If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear."
Search God's Word for your answer.
In many cases, God has already spoken on the subject and we simply need to obey His Word.
Be patient and wait for your answer.
You may not be hearing God's voice
because He simply may not be talking to you! But be persistent with
your prayers and seek the Lord diligently. He is faithful and will
always provide for your needs. --------------------------------- You can read more at the WorshipVibes blog. Feel free to leave your comments and to suggest further topics.

Operation New Neighbor
Recently a couple introduced
themselves to Pastor Pat on a Sunday morning with a word of thanks. They truly
enjoyed our service and were really blessed but they said they never would have
found us if they had not received a letter of invitation in the mail. They
wanted to say thanks. It was exciting to Pastor Pat that a direct invitation
could mean so much to someone. Not every letter we send is going to result in
someone coming to visit our church - but we need to continue to be faithful for
those who do.
If you would like to
help with this ministry, please contact me at: Tim@fourteensix.com
Thanks, Tim Juillet |
Operation Mailer
Our ministry development
leadership team is putting together a very detailed plan to help everyone get
involved as we get closer to launch day. We are excited to see this plan come
together. I suspect you will be excited, too. It should really help everyone
get plugged in.
If you
can help, please use our PayPal account (see below) or contact the church office
