Prayer Corner
We're coming back from Future Quest with a lot
of energy and excitement and we want to catch this wave of energy by moving our
Wednesday Nite Live Youth Group to a new level of commitment, outreach and
depth. We've got all sorts of ideas on how to make this happen but the first
step is to develop our core group so we need to pray that God will empower our
teens to take His message to their friends....take a moment and pray right now....

This Coming Sunday, June 28, 2009
God is NOT an idea, a far-away power that
created the universe and then left town nor is He just a higher power, like a
genie in a lamp, that comes to give us wishes whenever we call. Understanding a
little more about the infinite greatness of God can help us better understand what
we ought to expect from ourselves in terms of how we relate to Him. Come on out and learn more as we study Colossians 1: 15 - 18 with a message called " By Him and For Him".
See ya Sunday....
Coming up....
-
July 5 - Colossians 1: 19 - 23 Continue
-
July 12 - Colossians 1: 24 - 29 Hope of
Glory

A Word of Encouragement
Psalm 33:3 (KJV)
Sing
unto him a new song; play skillfully with a loud noise.
Some years
ago, a friend of mine who visited my church was completely mystified by the
music. My friend's experience of church music was more along the lines of
boring, the leader was more of a performer that the "audience" politely
listened too and the entire concept of music in the church was just tradition -
it had no relevance.
But my friend also found an energy at my church that
couldn't be defined, an excitement that seemed to resonate as much as the
amplifiers, joy in the faces of the people and a definite sense of celebration.
And why not? Our experience of excitement that God has rescued us from a
pointless life and offered us eternal validation and meaning is something to
get excited about. We cheer for a football team that may win today and lose
tomorrow - how much more should we cheer for our God, who holds all of eternity
in the palm of His hand? The truth is we need to sing louder about our hope in
God and our love for Him than any rock band on any stage and shout with as much
joy as any Super Bowl crowd whenever we get the chance.

Thank You
Thank you to
our Future Quest volunteers for helping us keep an eye on our teens in the
midst of 1,800 other teens (sort of like herding cats), driving 5 hours across
the desert and even lending us their cars. THANK YOU.

Operation New Neighbor
Tim Juillet is still working to lock down our 2
for 1 restaurant coupons to include in the mailers before we can officially
begin. If you know a restaurant owner or manager who may be interested, let Tim
know right away. |
Operation Mailer
***Our new
"Mailer Meeting" to discuss the when, how, theme, cost etc. of the next mailer
is scheduled for Tuesday, June 30 at 6 p.m. at the church office (15535 N.
Reems Road). The more brains we have on this the better the result so if you're
brain is not busy Tuesday, June 30 - lend it to us for the evening.
If you can help with a direct donation, please contact our project
manager, Athena Bonner, at Athena@fourteensix.com.

Vision
Wednesday Nite Live Youth Group is being
re-launched and our vision is to make some radical disciples out of our teens.
We're real happy meeting at Tom and Athena's but getting an entire live band
into their living room is going to be a stretch so if you know someone who has
a business with a large open space we could use during the week, let us know.
If you want to get involved - let me know at: pat@fourteensix.com
