What's Happening in Wine Country

Happy New Year from all of us at Wine Country RV Park! We hope you had a fun, relaxing Holiday Season with your family and friends! While winter has come upon us, it is has been relatively mild in the lower Yakima Valley. Stop by and stay a night or two if you are heading south or if you have already traveled south, come by and see us on your way back home. It's always good to keep up your stock of Washington wines, and there are none better than our local wines in Prosser.

If you have not experienced Red Wine and Chocolate weekend in February, you are missing out! All of the local wineries put together great red wine and chocolate combinations that are talked about all year long. Book your reservations for Red Wine and Chocolate weekend now! It is Presidents Day weekend, February 18th  and 19th.  The first 25 to call us for reservations that weekend will receive a 25% discount on your nightly rate!

It's never too early to start thinking about your spring plans. Check out our events schedule. You will certainly have spring fever by the time Spring Barrel Tasting weekend rolls around. Also, a little known secret is most of the local wineries have Pre-Srping Barrel Tasting weekend, the weekend before the official Spring Barrel Tasting weekend. It's not as crowded and you still get to sample some of the best new vintages coming out this year!

As you're planning your spring, summer and fall travel, remember we love groups, big and small. With our concierge service  we can help put together wine tastings, golf outings, hot air balloon rides, you name and we'll do our best to make it happen!

If you are planning a special event....remember we have banquet facilities, that can handle your group.

Thanks, for your patronage in 2011! We look forward to seeing you this coming year.

Promotions
Winter can be a tough time to travel but we would like to encourage you to come see us.  From now until Feb. 15th, every overnight stay will receive one additional night for FREE!!
The answer to last month's riddle was:
Pumpkins were once used as a remedy for snake bites!!  We had a number of great guess but since it was during Halloween, the season appropriate answer was pumpkins.

Here is this months riddle -  When I am filled I can point the way. When I am empty nothing moves me. I have two skins, one within and one without. What am I?

The fastest guest to email to:  WineCountry@WineCountryRVPark.com

with RIDDLE in the subject line and the correct answer to the riddle will receive a free one night stay.

On The Wine Front

Willlow Crest

Well, it looks like our perpetual mild sunny weather has thwarted the possibility of ice wine from this years grape crop.  I guess we wait until next year. However, there will be some excellent vintages tapped in April for Spring Barrel Tasting.

                               Featured Wine of the Month:

Mercer's 2008 Petit Verdot received 91 points in the Wine Enthusiast!
