This is the month that brings in the Prosser Wine & Food Fair. This event is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. It is also changing venue to the newly opened Walter Clore Wine & Culinary Center. The Clore Center is located on a beautiful site in Prosser overlooking the Yakima River. Make it to this fun event.
In August there is an event that is dear to my heart. The Yakima Valley Fair and Rodeo. I grew up in Grandview, just 6 miles from Prosser, and every summer the fair brought excitement to a little town. August 10-13th the fair returns to Grandview. The church booths with great hamburgers packed with piles of garden grown tomatoes, a carnival and midway for the kids and lots of commercial booths. Gramma would bring her home canning to compete with other locals for the coveted blue ribbons. Unfortunately the carnival is gone but it has been replaced by the rodeo. This is a great event for the whole family. It is just 6 short miles from Wine Country RV Park.

The answer to last month's riddle was NO U.S. Representative or Senator has ever played in "Our Gang" as a little rascal in spite of the fact that there are lot of them that qualify as little rascals.
Here is this months riddle -
Two racers were given the challenge to race 500 miles but the winner would be the last car to cross the finish line. They were not allowed to split the winnings. They began running their laps but the race ground to a halt because neither wanted to finish ahead of the other. The two racers got out of their cars, walked to a nearby bar and talked. They then ran out of the bar to the cars and raced off to a quick finish of the race. What made them go fast?
