What's Happening in Wine Country
April really fires off our camping season.  The weather turns warmer like over 70 deg. today, the fruit trees begin blossoming and asparagus is jumping out of the ground.  If you are a long time reader, you already know thatTree in bloom asparagus is one of my all time  favorites.  Wine tasting really gets off to a fast start with one of the great educational weekends as the wineries host Spring Barrel Tasting. Click HERE for a great preview of the some of the wineries that will be participating and what they will be serving. Remember that Wine Country RV Park is also serving pancakes, eggs, sausage, orange juice and coffee Saturday morning for only $6. This has become so popular that the weekend before Spring Barrel the wineries have pre-Spring Barrel Tasting, a more laid back practice for the big event. We still have sites available for pre-Spring Barrel tasting April 9th & 10th.
We're excited to announce that we have a new convenient online reservation system that immediately completes the entire reservation process so that all you need to do is stop in the office and pick up your greeting package.
Just click HERE to give it a try.

CURRENT WEATHER CONDITIONS

Concerned About Radiation
The tremendous devastation that occurred and is still occurring in Japan has kept us glued to the TV.  With the potential radiation contamination here in the US we feel a need for some good information.  Here is some interesting information regarding radiation levels (click here) and what you can do to protect yourself from damage to your body from radiation.  You wine lovers will love this one.

The Gas Price Blues

As prices approach $4 per gallon we all feel the pain but we have a plan for you.  Each RVing season you have only a certain number of days that you can vacation.  Why not go on less trips but--  make each trip longer.  If instead of going for 6 weekends, you go for 3 mini-vacations of 4 days each your cost of gas is cut in 1/2.  You also reduce the miles on your rig so maintenance and wear and tear are also less.  You are less rushed, spend less time traveling and you come home more relaxed and ready to really be productive.  If you really want to be relaxed treat yourself to a massage at our great Wine Country Day Spa.
There are also a number of fuel finder computer program that track daily prices that can guide you to the station with the best fuel price.  Give this Google Gadget a try or find an app online for your iPhone or Android.  RVing is still one of the best travel buys for your buck and you meet the nicest people.

1/3 cup fresh lemon juice

2 pounds fresh asparagus, trimmed

salt & pepper to taste
