Bradford College partnership visit to albania |
| From the 9th June - 11th June two representatives from Bradford College in the UK will visit the Economic School of Tirana, their partner in College Partnership component of Skills@Work project. The partnership between the two colleges is in its third year.
This visit aims to:
- Develop capacities among teachers of the Economic schools
- Finalise the learning and teaching materials of the first four units that will be used with students of the first year. Unit One: Customers relations in Travel and Tourism industry
Unit Two: Albanian travel and tourism industry
Unit three: Promotional materials for travel and tourism industry
Unit Four: Planning itineraries in travel and tourism Industry
Create and shape a Lesson plan for each of the above mentioned modules Agree on an action plan for the forthcoming year. Albanian travel and tourism agencies have given their input in the preparation of the learning and teaching materials. the fifth curator |
| The Fifth Curator competition is a unique new opportunity for an aspiring curator to select an exhibition of works from the British Council Collection. We're looking for someone who is based permanently outside the UK, who believes they have the passion and knowledge to be a leading curator.
The winning curator will be given unlimited access to the Collection, which includes over 8500 key works of British art and the resulting exhibition will be shown at the prestigious Whitechapel Gallery in the vibrant East end of London in April 2010. |

Resource Centre Opening Cermony at English FAculty |

On the 19th of June British Council in Albania organised the opening of a new resource centre at the English department of the Tirana, Faculty of Foreign Languages. The initiative fit with the global British Council aim to offer every teacher and learner of English, access to the best resources and expertise from the UK. There is a new computer room with access to the internet from which students and teachers can access the British Council's online English products for teachers. The centre was opened by the HMA in Albania Fiona Mcilwham and the Rector of Tirana University.
