Wow... I can't believe it's Easter already!!  It seems that everybody is feeling that this year is flying by... While you are enjoying your chocolate treats this Easter, spare a thought for the many children (and adults) that need to wear the 'No chocolate for me' badge at Easter time due to severe anaphylaxis to chocolate and sugar...
Next month heralds Star Allergy Alerts 4th Birthday! and we will be celebrating in a big way!  Keep an eye out for our May E-Newsletter for details!!
Wishing you a safe and happy Easter break and Happy Shopping!

Flying with Food Allergies and Anaphylaxis...

Startling new research reveals that most major airlines do not have clearly defined policies and procedures in place for allergic passengers, and they continue to serve some of the most highly allergenic foods, including nuts, sesame, fish and shellfish.

One well known airline, which shall remain nameless, recently announced that they would continue to serve peanuts on international flights even if they had passengers on the plane with anaphylaxis to peanuts!

The common response to complaints are "We cannot guarantee an allergen-free flight." With flying being a fundamental part of modern life, the allergic have a right to do it safely - like everyone else.
We would love to hear about your experiences with flying and which airlines have gone that extra mile for you (or not!)... Please email your stories here
