A solo exhibit of new works by Otto Donald Rogers is always a highly anticipated event.
Renowned as one of Canada's pre-eminent artists, Rogers' current pieces - in paint, mixed media and an exciting return to steel - achieve a rare beauty.
"He is doing the best work of his life, a magnificent summa to 53 years of painting," observes Ken Carpenter, respected art critic. "These most recent works seem not just beautiful and moving, but also wise."
We hope you will join us at the Opening Reception on April 26 from 2- 6 pm with opening remarks beginning at 4:30pm.
To accompany this exhibit, Oeno has prepared a catalogue with colour reproductions and text specially written by Ken Carpenter, Chair Emeritus of the Visual Arts Department at York University in Toronto and President of the Canadian Section of the International Association of Art Critics.

Oeno is proud to present Woolfitt's first solo exhibition in Canada in 5 years. Known as an outstanding entrepreneur and studio art teacher, Woolfitt's return to painting and works on paper continue his dramatic journey of renewal.
"Woolfitt's palette has shifted toward rich blues and his art is more luminous than ever... Rich glazing suffuses the whole with a vitreous gleam," notes art expert, Ken Carpenter. "I have no doubt that Ben Woolfitt is moving on from strength to strength."

From Bauhaus to Tree House, and Beyond
In the last lecture of our series, Edward Falkenberg will discuss the process of his art, from his first commission 40 years ago to his latest pieces, currently on display at Oeno Gallery. Encompassing an eclectic range of work in wood and steel, including office and residential design and furniture, and sculpture for both public and private spaces, Falkenberg will explore the common threads of space, distance, scale and balance that infuse his work.

Jean-Marc Salvagno, chef/owner of L'Auberge de France, in Belleville, hails from Avignon, France, where he owned and ran a critically acclaimed restaurant featuring mainly Provencal dishes.
Future dinners will be held on June 20, September 17 and October 24.

Prince Edward County Jazz Festival
Starts at Oeno!
The 2009 Prince Edward County Jazz Festival kicks off on August 18 at Oeno Gallery with a performance of an intriguing text/poem/score by artist and visual poet, Alice Teichert, performed by Teichert with jazz musicians, Bram Geilen, Alex Samaras and Brian Barlowe. This is a unique event!
Starts at 8 pm, with free after concert jazz on the patio of Huff Estates with Alex and Bram
Tickets are $20 and can be reserved through the Gallery.
