CHERRY PICKING | |

| |
Cherry Picking is underway now! The season has come early because as most midwesterners experienced, it was a mild winter, and a very early spring. However due to this mild, then freezing weather, many cherry trees budded, then froze, desroying a good deal of Door County's Cherry crop. Prices have gone up for cherries, including our Deep Dish Cherry Pies, however 'pick your own by the pail' still averages $6.oo a pail, a bargain for the experience! ug |

HAWAIIAN BANANA MINI CUPCAKE RECIPE | |
As you can imagine Bananas are rampant in Hawaii! When we lived in Kona residents would leave big shocks of banana stems full of ripe bananas on street corners making them available for the taking because their shelf like is pretty short. Naturally, we think of as many ways to prepare bananas as is possible: This one uses up overripe bananas from the freezer & we like them as mini cupcakes.
Hawaiian Banana Mini Cupcakes
1/ 2 C Margarine
1 1/4 C Sugar
2 Eggs
1 C Mashed Bananas
1/2 C Sour Milk/Buttermilk
1 Tsp. Baking Soda
2 C Sifted Flour
Heat oven to 350. Sift together flour & baking soda; set aside. Beat margarine & sugar together in mixer, adding eggs, then bananas. Add flour mixture & beat all. Grease mini muffin tin & fill 3/4 with batter. Bake for 10-12 minutes until lightly browned. Makes 48 mini cupcakes: Enjoy! |
