Eli Matson in Concert at the DC Auditorium
Eli Mattson, Door County's own piano man is appearing in concert at the Door Community Auditorium. He was the runner-up in  'America's Got Talent' competitions. Passionate and dynamic, Eli embraces every song with emotion. Eli will be appearing the Door Community Auditorium on May 1st at 8pm, and because of popular demand, an additional   night on May 2nd at 8pm. Get  your seat  while availability lasts. Door County
1/2 Marathon 
The Second Annual Door County Half-Marathon is on May 2nd and located at the Peninsula State Park. Race starts at 10am on a paved surface within the park. All finishers will receive a t-shirt, finisher's medal, food and drink at the finish line. Awards will be presented to the top male and female runners, top male and female master runners and the top three finishers in each age group. Also located at the same place and time is the Nicolet Bay 5k fun run / walk. Eagle Harbor Inn is proud to be a sponsor of this great event!
 
NICOLET BAY 5K FUN RUN / WALK
 Nicolet Bay 5K Fun Run / Walk begins at 10:30am just after the start of the half marathon. Race starts near the beach and participants follow the out and back course. Walkers are welcome to participate in the 5K. All finishers will receive a t-shirt, as well as food and drink at the finish line. Awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers and door prizes will be given out.

PJ and the Martini's will be playing live at the Door County Outpost located in Egg Harbor April 10th at 7pm. Enjoy their wonderful brand of jazz music & see what the Outpost has to offer. The Outpost is home to a fine art gallery, gift shop and café. The music program at the Outpost has attracted some of the top touring artists from around the country. Admission is $7. Local East Egg Hunts
Our communities have gotten together to create not one but two Easter egg hunts for your family and friends. We're talking treats in every egg and prizes for every age group! All Easter egg hunts are held April 11th, the first at Lakeside Park in Jacksonport, 11am to noon & Peninsula State Park in Ephraim, 11am to noon. A traditional way to celebrate Easter and watch the joy it brings to all.

If fishing is your thing & you are slightly competetive, the 21st Annual Brown Trout Tournament is a big event in Door County! Join in the kick off of the angler's fishing season. The tournament starts on April 17th and ends  April 19th. A $25 entry fee entitles participants an opportunity to win generous cash prizes for the top 60 heaviest fish, and a grand prize valued at over $1500 to be awarded to the angler with the biggest fish. Festival of Blossoms
This Door County Tradition celebrates the special season of Spring, running May 1st - June 6th to catch all of spring's freshest offerings. Check out the latest variety of daffodils, the Door County USA, blossoming cherry & apple trees, beautiful spring gardens, &  woods loaded with the protected trilliums, dutchman's shoe and bachelor's buttons. Photo opportunities couldn't be better. And if electedSegway PT Tour in the Park
The Segway tours start May 1st and continue throughout the summer. They run daily from 9am-5pm.  Glide around our state park, celebrating its 150th birthday this year, on the two wheels of a Segway Personal Transporter. What a relaxing way to explore all your senses while enjoying the beauty of the park. After a half hour training on the Segway PT, we will glide up and down hills through Peninsula State Park for about 1 1/2 hours. If you keep your eyes open, you are likely to spot deer, turkey, & possibly an eagle. The views overlooking the bay are simply breathtaking. Easter Egg chocChocolate-Dipped
Coconut Macaroons
1 pkg. (14oz) Bakers's Angel Flake Coconut 
2/3 cup sugar
6 tbsp. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
4 egg whites
1 tsp. almond extract
1 pkg. (8 squares) Baker's Semi-Sweet Baking Chocolate, melted
 
MIX coconut, sugar, flour and salt in large bowl. Stir in egg whites and almond extract until well blended. Drop by tablespoonfuls in egg shapes, onto greased and floured cookie sheets. BAKE at 325F for 20 minutes or until edges of cookies are golden brown. Immediately remove from cookie sheets to wire racks. Cool completely. DIP cookies halfway into melted chocolate. Let stand at room temperature or refrigerate on wax paper-lined tray 30 minutes or until chocolate is firm. Makes about 3 dozen. Storage Know-How: Store in tightly covered container up to 1 week.

Prep: 15 minutes plus cooling 
Bake: 20 minutes
