FIRST ANNUAL! Half Marathon and Fun Run/Walk - coming May 3rd
First Annual Door County Half Marathon May 3rd at 10am with Peninsula State Park providing a wonderful backdrop for this event. Even if you are not a serious runner there will be a Fun Run/Walk at 10:30am with a scenic course along the bay with magnificent views of Eagle Harbor Lighthouse. All participants receive a free t-shirt. Door County Trolley will pick up and drop off Eagle Harbor Inn guests. We hope you will make this a healthy new tradition!

Annual Door County Lighthouse Walk May 17-18th
This is the 15th Annual tour, the only time all year when six mainland lighthouses are open for touring. Boat tours to the island lighthouses are an option but require advance reservations. Please visit door county maritime museum or call 920-743-5958. Don't forget the Keepers Kin presentation and dessert social with relatives of the lighthouse keepers on May 16th! Peanut Butter Brownies
1/2 cup crunch style peanut butter 2 tsp vanilla
1/3 cup butter, softened 1 cup flour
3/4 cup light brown sugar, 1 tsp baking pwdr
firmly packed 1/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup granulated sugar 2 eggs
2 pkg. (6oz each) Semisweet chocolate morsels,

In a large bowl, combine peanut butter, butter, brown and granulated sugars; beat until creamy. Beat in eggs, one at a time, then vanilla. In a seperate bowl, sitr together the flour, baking powder and salt. Gradually stir this into peanut butter mixture until well mixed. Stir in one package of the chocolate morsels. Spread batter evenly in a greased thriteen-by-nine-by-two-inch baking pan. Sprinkle remaining chocolate morsels on top of batter. Place pan in 350F oven for three minutes. Remove pan from oven and lightly run a knife back and forth through the batter a few times so chocolate forms a marble pattern. Quickly return pan to oven and bake about thirty minutes longer or until firm in the center and edges begin to pull away from the sides of the pan. Cool in pan on a wire rack. Cut into twenty-four bars. |
