On February 7, 2012, the Hutchinson City Council approved staff recommendations to carry out and promote a SculptureWalk project.
A group comprised of the Downtown Hutchinson Design Committee, the Hutchinson/Reno Arts & Humanities Council, and the City of Hutchinson, has selected six sculptures to display downtown and work will soon start on installing the bases for the exhibition pieces. They plan to hold the opening celebration for the SculptureWalk on the Third Thursday in June.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the six sponsors who have generously stepped forward to contribute to this exciting endeavor to bring great works of art to Downtown Hutchinson.
If you would like to support this project, you can mail your donation to: Hutchinson/Reno Arts & Humanities (EIN 48-1075214) SculptureWalk Project, 405 N. Washington, Hutchinson, Ks. 67501

Downtown Stakeholder Breakfast Meetings | |
Downtown Hutchinson has hosted a series of breakfast meetings this spring to talk to Downtown stakeholders about ways to improve communications and look at ways to promote their districts as a part of downtown.
Three districts have been designated downtown: the Santa Fe District (Third Avenue to Seventh Avenue), the Central District (Sherman Street to Third Avenue), and the SoMa/Antique District (Avenue C to Sherman Street).
These breakfast meetings have helped generate lots of ideas and those attending indicated interest in holding followup breakfast meetings in the future.
