DESIGN COMMITTEE NEWS - Chair Lovella Kelley

Members of the Design Committee continue working toward the placement of public art pieces in downtown and former Art Center Director, David Murano, and Jeremiah Harmon with Hutchinson High School, have agreed to offer advice and assistance.

A letter has been sent to downtown businesses asking them to participate in a "Window Christmas Tree" contest with a Christmas tree in their windows and the windows surrounded with lights.  A committee, as well as the public, will vote on the best design and prizes will be awarded.

The Design Committee will pursue a grant application for the walking path project in Avenue A Park.  The walking path will provide markers at the fourth, half, and three-quarters mile and a sign indicating start and finish with a map and directions.  The committee has set a Spring deadline for completion of the project.
