Downtown Hutchinson to launch our new website!

Downtown Hutchinson is proud to announce our new website www.downtownhutchinson.com

We are planning to go live with the site on

Monday, February  21st.

The new site is designed so that visitors to the site can access info by clicking on one of three easy buttons.  For events, venues and attractions:  Click on (DO)......for restaurants: Click on (EAT).....and for retailers, services or other businesses: Click on (SHOP).

Visitors who click on your business listing will be directed to your web site, Facebook page or Marketplace listing, whichever you choose for them to do.  Site visitors will have a powerful new tool to explore Downtown Hutchinson from their PC or smart phone and plan their trips to shop, eat or take part in the many activities our downtown offers.

Just in case we might not have gotten every listing the way you wanted it, we included a way for businesses in the downtown area to sign in, establish a password and enter or update information about their business. Now you will have control over how your business information is presented to the public on our website.  We hope you use this tool to help you promote your business and gain new customers!

To view our new website go to http.//67.212.174.72/

  • We need you to preview the new web site and your business listing!
  • Let us know of any changes or corrections to your business information or listing.
  • Do you want the visitor to go next  to your: own website?  Facebook page? or the Hutch News Marketplace listing?

Remember, we will go live with the site on Monday, February  21st.

If you have any questions, concerns or changes that we need to make to your listing please call us at 694-2677 or e-mail jims@hutchgov.com by Friday February 18th so that we can make them before www.downtownhutchinson.com goes live on Monday, February 21st.

You can also follow our progress on Facebook and become a friend of Downtown Hutchinson.

*********

Thanks to all of you for cleaning off the recent heavy snow!

A  property owner, proprietor or tenant in the Downtown District on Main Street from 7th to Avenue C and one block east and west are responsible to clear a path for pedestrian traffic clear of ice & snow on your sidewalks by 10 am Monday thru Saturday (excluding Holidays), or as soon thereafter as the snowfall or (winter storm) ceases.  Ordinance #2009-34 was passed on December 15, 2009, to make it safer and easier for our customers, visitors and neighbors to do their business in Downtown Hutchinson during the winter.

The Downtown Piano Project

Piano Project 2011

In 2010 Janet Ryan, a downtown supporter, came up with
the great idea of taking donated pianos, asking people and groups to paint them, then having the pianos placed at various business locations downtown.  The idea was to bring them out on Third Thursdays so people could have the opportunity to play a tune.

Above is just one of the pianos being played by a budding musician.  We hope you can come downtown on Third Thursdays in 2011 to see these "works of art" and enjoy
Third Thursday and all it has to offer in person.
