From Director Jim Seitnater |
Help us keep Downtown looking great this summer by keeping weeds sprayed/pulled and sidewalks clean! With all the recent rain we've had and expected temperatures in the 80's, weeds are going to start growing rapidly. Let's all do our part and start early with spraying/weeding while weeds are still small and easy to take care of. We're proud of Downtown and want it to look its best for shoppers and visitors.
A lot of
dedicated people are working hard to make downtown a better place. If you are interested in helping or need
more information about Downtown Hutchinson activities, events or
volunteer opportunities , please call our office at 694-2677 or e-mail jims@hutchgov.com

DESIGN COMMITTEE NEWS - Chair Lovella Kelley | The Committee has been very busy with plans for the following:
The need to move ahead with public art and formulate a Mission Statement on what they expect from public are in the downtown area was discussed at the monthly meeting.
Work continues on the June 17th Art Tour with lining up music, artists, and business locations to display the art.
Another "Ladies Nite Out" will be hosted by the Historic Fox Theatre with the help of Mary Hemmings the evening of the Art Tour.
At this time the proposal on wayfaring signs is to have no more than three destinations listed on each sign, with the Downtown logo at the bottom.
A "Salons Night Out" is in the discussion stage with a tentative date sometime in November.
Also discussed was setting June 12th as a volunteer clean-up day for the downtown area.
