What's It All About?
|
Tom Wilkens is filling in for pastor John during August. He is developing a series of sermons under the theme of "The Meaning of Life Seen from the End of Life" or "What's It All About, Alfie?" (Tom remembers the Michael Caine version; young whippersnappers will have seen the Jude Law version.) The sermons will have at least a nodding acquaintance with the appointed Scripture readings for each week, though they might be better described as generally Bible-based rather than specifically text-based. Here are the weekly sermon titles:
- First week: "Of Symptoms and Systems"
- Second week: "A Dad and a Daughter Do a Dialogue"
(Tom and Kim together again) - Third week: "Have You Found the Rhythm?"
- Fourth week: "Churched, Unchurched, Dechurched or Rechurched: What Difference Does It Make?"
- Fifth week: "True Religion: What It Is and What It Ain't"
