What is our mission?
|
Our mission is to be disciples, but what does that mean? That's the theme of this weekend's worship service. Here are a few thoughts that might provide some clues:

An evening with a modern father
and a postmodern daughter
Come help us celebrate the launch of the book Kim Wilkens and her dad, Tom Wilkens have co-authored called Un-American Activities: Countercultural Themes in Christianity. This is a project that has been in the works for a few years and Kim is so grateful for the support and encouragement she has received from her community of faith at Peace Lutheran Church.
What: Celebrate a book launch with a little music, reading, wine & cheese

End of Summer BLAST
Join us as we bring summer to a close at this 20-acre lake and park located at Stoney Creek located near Wintergreen Resort. Lake Monacan offers a snack bar, paddleboats, canoes, inner tubes, kayaks, fishing equipment, standard road bike rentals, horseshoe pits, sand volleyball court, sand beach, lounge chairs, picnic area and more.
When: Sunday, August 16 at noon
Where: Lake Monacan Resort
Cost: $8.00 per person which includes beach access, lake swimming and use of inflatable structures in lake (trampoline, etc), horseshoes and beach volleyball. The cost of $12.00 per person includes above plus use of kayaks, paddleboats, canoes.
