Summer BLAST!

We invite you to have a BLAST with us this summer - we believe that we are Blessed to be Loving and Serving Together! This summer our mission focuses on fellowship and service, and we hope to provide you with opportunities to make new friends and be the arms of love, while we serve our local and global communities together.
Each week we'll highlight a few fellowship and service opportunities. This week we want to highlight a new service opportunity through the Salvation Army Meal Ministry.
For many years now, Cheryl Thomasen has coordinated our Salvation Army Meal Ministry. Last week, however, Cheryl unexpectedly underwent open heart by-pass surgery. We are so thankful that the surgery went well, and that Cheryl is now home recovering.
Cheryl is now seeking a Salvation Army Meal Co-Coordinator to help her through these next few months. The Meals Coordinator needs to make sure all the components of the meal arrive together for preparation at 5:00 PM on the first Friday of each month at the Salvation Army Kitchen. The M/C also needs to make sure there are enough volunteers at hand to prepare and serve the meal. If you are able to help Cheryl with this ministry in any way, please either call her at 985-6497 or email her at thomasen@cstone.net.

Don't miss our Synod's Annual Power in the Spirit Conference this year - July 9-11 at Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia. This year's theme is Power Through Scripture: Fueling our Faith. This year's keynote speaker and Bible study leader is Mark Allan Powell. Dr. Powell is an internationally known theologian and Bible scholar.
